The August swap over at Chaotic Goddess Swaps was our first annual Local Flavor Swap, and it was so much fun! I was paired up with Ricki-Jill the talent behind Art @ Home (one of my favorite bloggy buddies) from Birmingham Alabama. They eat some strange (but exciting) things in Alabama apparently, have a look:
- Fried Green Tomato Batter Mix: I've never had these! Now I need to find some green tomatoes!
- Wickles Pickles Sandwich Spread: This looks tasty, I can't wait to try this!
- Montego Joes Cheddar Cheese Straws: These seem southern to me lol!
- Priesters Pecans Candies: Um... These were gone in like 2 days... Yes all of them. Don't judge me.
- Bama Bees Orange Melissa Solid Lotion & Simple Life Farm Soap: These smell so different! I've never smelled anything like them.
- O'Henry's Coffees: YUM! I LOVE Coffee!
- Chocolate Chip Cookies: I may have a bag of these left somewhere... May.
- Original Southern Sweet Tea Shirt: It's on it's way to me now, she had to back order it. So cute!
- An art book mark.
- Alabama Goods Necklace: it's art on an old (heavy)die with a card tag. So cool!
- This Mug: I'm in love with this mug. It's sooooo gorgeous!
Thank you so much Ricki-Jill, you totally spoiled me and opened my eyes to all sorts of new things I'd never even heard of! I can't wait to try it all! If you want to see what I sent Ricki-Jill (for a little taste of Salt Lake City) head over to her blog and read all about it!
Don't forget to check back with Chaotic Goddess Swaps on September First for a killer giveaway from Live Steamy, and our announcement for our Favorite Color Swap!

On another note, I was feeling super generous so I extended all of my current sidebar sponsors ads out to October 30th. Since I'm still feeling generous, purchase any available ad with me between now and September 20th and I'll automatically extend your ad to October 30 as well! More bang for your buck and lots of promotion! Plus, all of my current advertisers at that time will get a special discount for my HUGE Holiday Hotlist-it's going to be even bigger and better this year!
Get it while it's hot, because I only have 1 Medium (200x200) ad left, and 5 Small (200x100) and then I'm done until the Holiday Hot List! :D Let me know if you have any questions!

Don't forget to enter the BIG Back to School Giveaway that just started yesterday!

OMG, I am coming over! :P
ReplyDeleteFried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe is a fantastic Fannie Flagg book, and I'm tickled pink about the batter mix. They rock, by the way- nice and tangy.
Pecan anything is nom-tastic! And I love the Sweet tea Shirt! Har har. :)
Ricki Jill totally spoiled you....I love it! :D
oooh interesting stuff! looks yummy. Enjoy the swap ;)
ReplyDeleteYou got lots of neat stuff! What a fun swap :D
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so happy. Your t-shirt will be coming via mail and you should get it on Friday.
ReplyDeleteThe lotion is like something you've probably never tried. It looks like soap, but it's a solid lotion. I hope you like it.
I can't wait to try the fry sauce this weekend on burgers. Trip has had it before because he's worked in 48 out of 50 states! He likes it, so I know I will, too. Thanks for leaving me the suggestions!!!
xo,
RJ
What awesome goodies! Ricki really is one of the best swap partners and bloggy buddies. Love her.
ReplyDeleteThat Edward Scissorhands piece you got for Ricki...does the artist have an online shop? Cause I LOVE that piece.
ReplyDeleteWow... they have a mix for Fried Green Tomatoes???? I bet they are better than just flour and seasoning I make. Love Fried Green Tomatoes. At our Farmer's Market you have to go very early to get some, unless you are lucky enough (or crazy enough) to have 28 tomato plants in your back yard like us, you can go pick one until the heat and sun ripes them.
ReplyDeleteYou scored big time. Thanks so much for hosting this swap!
I hate that I missed out on the Local swap! That would have been so fun! It looks like you got a ton of fun stuff to try out.
ReplyDeleteI hate that I missed this too!!! Fried Green Tomatoes are amazing!!! You will love them! They're great with ranch :)
ReplyDeleteFun swap. I want some cheese straws now...
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun idea!
ReplyDeletegreat stuff you got
ReplyDeleteA local flavor swap is such a neat idea! Since I'm from Seattle I'd probably send Starbucks coffee, Theo's chocolate and a bottle of wine from a winery in Woodinville. :-)
ReplyDeletePickles sandwich spread....maybe a new thing to try!?
ReplyDeleteAlso, if they're from Alabama where are the grits!? =P
