Hello dear readers & friends of My So-Called Chaos,
for those of you who don't know me yet, my name is Luchessa and I'm the writing behind the beauty & lifestyle blog: Beauty expression by Luchessa.
I would like to thank Miss Angie for the opportunity to write a guest post for her blog. I've been a loyal reader of My So-called Chaos and it's an honor for me to be featured here.
You must know, i'm a huge lover of different kind of face masks. So there is no surprise that i'd like to talk about my recently discovered mask by AVON Planet Spa - the Thailand lotus flower deep pore cleansing face mask. (What a long name!)
A dear friend of mine sent me a 75ml tube as a gift from Latvia, as I haven't seen AVON here in Germany before. That's where I'm actually based and probably the reason why this is my first time experience with this mask. As far as i know it's been on the market for over 2 years already.
Maybe i should also mention my skin type: Fair, Combination, Sensitive.
And now - let's talk about the mask!
AVON claims:
Helps to lift out dirt, debris and excess oil without over-drying, leaving skin feeling soft and revived.
Packaging:
It's a 75ml light purple tube with a sturdy flip top lid, that makes it real easy to open and close it with even one hand.
Scent:
The mask has a lovely flowery & powdery scent, which stays on you face even after you rinse the mask off. I'm usually not a big fan of scented skin care products, but in this case i don't mind at all, since it smells really nice.
Application:
The consistency is quite thick, but still easy to spread over the face and provides a nice cooling effect. It comes out of the tube having a light purple color and after a minute it dries to a completely white clay powder. You're suppose to leave the mask on for 5 minutes. After that it should look dry and maybe even start crumbling a bit.
(Don't forget the leave out the sensitive & gentle area around your eyes and lips.)
Feel:
During the application it feels soothing & cooling. When the mask starts drying you get that tightening feeling, obviously since it contains clay, it makes your pores look tighter & fresher afterwards I guess.
Conclusion:
After washing my face and patting it dry, my skin was looking smoother and even a bit whiter.
It didn't really take redness away or cleaned the blackheads (even if it claims to be a pore cleansing mask)), but what i really liked was the fact, that my skin was mattified and visibly fresher. For somebody with rather oily T-zone, that's a really good result.
In my opinion, the mask is suitable for any skin type, since my own skin tends to be sensitive and i didn't get any breakouts or allergies.
I would definitely recommend using a light face cream afterwards to provide the needed hydration after the tightening effect of the mask. I like to apply a gel moisturizer, since they are usually lighter than the creamy ones.
