The Roommate's Birthday Bash

Friday night we had a birthday party for my roommate (who is the world's best roommate and friend-for sure) and it was such a blas! We had a great turn out, and I made a bunch of new friends.  Check it out.

I decided to post this song this week, because it's the inspiration for this blog.  I relate to the desire to drop everything and be free as much as the next person, and sometimes I just want to hop in the car and keep driving and driving and never stop...

But I always come back.

There are so many beautiful people in my life that add to this big chaotic jumble of love that I surround myself with.  I am so grateful for each and everyone one of them.  For those that drop everything with me and flee on occasion, and for those that ground me and keep me firmly connected to my roots.

I love you all!

I Have a Fist Full of Thankful

 Happy Thanksgiving!

All month on Facebook, I've been trying to remember to openly be thankful for something.  We have so much to be thankful for, and there is often so many times when we get caught up in our own drama and forget them all.  So in the spirit of Thanksgiving, and at the risk of being Cliche.  Here's a list of 25 things I'm Thankful for.

1. I'm thankful for a warm home and a roof over my head.

2. I'm thankful for 3 wonderful siblings, and two siblings-in-law

3. I'm thankful for Parents who raised me to know what is right and live passionately.

4. I'm thankful for finally finding a job I really love with benefits.

5. I'm thankful for a working car that gets me where I need to go.

6. I'm thankful for food on the table and money in the bank.

7. I'm thankful that I have the BEST friends in the world.

8. I am thankful for the ability to speak my mind and be honest.

9. I am thankful for Netflix, it's really great.

10. I'm thankful for great multitasking skills, so I'm so great at my job.

11. I am thankful for the most beautiful honorary nieces and nephews.

12. I'm thankful for the air I breath and the earth beneath my feet.

13. I'm thankful for a warm cozy bed to sleep in.

14. I'm thankful to live in a place surrounded by so much natural beauty.

15. I'm thankful for the power to forgive.

16. I'm especially thankful for my roommate.  He's amazing.

So all of the weather reports in my area have been talking about epic snow.

The chanel four guy said the biggest he's seen.

Blizzards. Road closure.

I even worked from home today.

So far, it's not all blizzardy at my house yet.

But it is pretty.

It isn't the happiest, but it strikes true on so many levels, and it's pretty.

Sunday Citar: Good Intentions

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

Sometimes, when you intend to do the right thing, it's completely wrong.
You can have good intentions, and end up completely shattering someone.
Causing unnecessary re-hashing and hurt.

You can take a good lazy day and turn it around;
leaving them crying for 45 minutes on the couch.

You can re-open all the wounds before they're ready to take the bandage off.
Pour a little salt and lemon juice in, rub it around.
It hurts like hell...

Just think about it before you do it.
Maybe when they tell you not to do anything, you should listen.
Maybe it's not your place.

Hi Ladies! 

I know it's Friday and time for letters, but I have to admit-there's only one I can think to write and I don't have the emotional energy to do it right now... Maybe next week I'll share it with you, but right now I feel so emotionally exhausted by it-I can't put it down in print.  

Instead, I'd like to stay upbeat-because I feel lighter when I write an upbeat post.
