Finally Friday!

That's right folks, it's actually Friday.  I'm ready to get out and have some freedom!

Don't you hate that you can't say it's Friday without getting the stupid Friday song in your head?  I confess that I do... Terrible.  That song is just awful and I don't appreciate having it in my head.  I confess that I also don't appreciate that the neighboring team is cooking bacon in the office and not sharing.  Boo to that!

It's bright and sunny here in Utah and very hot.
Which doesn't help the fact that there are tons of fires nearby and no sign of rain... No bueno.  Last I heard there is one fire in Fairview that has claimed over 400,000 acres and at least 50 homes.  Very sad.  I'm going camping this weekend and I'm going to have to take my inhaler!

So Whispering Sweet Nothings has this really cool Coast to Coast blogger map that you can add your information to.  It's very cool, because you can go in and check it out.  You can find people based on the map, and you can get yourself added to it so people can find you.  It's very neat!  Thanks Aubrey for sharing it with me!

I confess that I only have 7 more followers until I hit 700 and that means another giveaway!  I had better start thinking up something awesome for you guys.  :)

Also, I'm linking up with confessions 'cause Mamarazzi is back!

I confess that I went in for a meeting with the rescue I volunteer with last night to plan our Howl-O-Ween event, and I was the only one who ordered meat.  I felt really silly as the two girls two my right were Vegitarians.  So here I am with a bloody rare steak... Awkward.

They were very nice though, it's going to be a great group of girls to work with.  The event should be amazing!  Silent Auction, drawings, costume contest, photo booth with your pets, catered and OPEN BAR.  Hell yes.  I can't wait! (Even though I have a TON of work left to do before then.)

If you want good advertising and to help the animals you can donate product to the event that we'll auction off, and then you'll get listed in our newsletter, on our list of sponsors, and on the Cause for Paws website.  It's great publicity!

Also, I need a favor.
I'm walking in the Strut Your Mutt event to help raise money for my rescue.
If you could donate a little to help, that would be amazing! (any little bit counts)
BUT, if you could sign up as a virtual walker it's even better!
The team with the most walkers signed up by July 9th gets $1,000 towards their goal!
We can save so many lives with that! Please help us out!
You don't have to be local, you just have to sign up and join our pack.
You'll also get free CFPU merch!

If you still don't want to sign up, you can help sponsor my walking:

So what are you up to this weekend?

Bunches of Things

Happy Tuesday lovelies!
How are you all today?

Have you signed up for Swapoween yet?  If yes-good job! If not-why not?  I've already started working towards matching people and man am I excited.  There are such great swappers in the mix already and I can't wait to see what everyone gets in the mail.  Check it out-there's only 2 days left! :)

Sunday we went out on the Paddle Boats at Liberty park.  It was actually pretty fun to go hang out with all the ducks and geese.

Hopefully I'm getting a new work computer today.  I'll be so grateful to have one with new drivers (the display driver fails 9 or 10 times a day on my computer!) and with a new HDD since this one keeps blue screening and taking 30 minutes to start up in the morning.  I tried my best to fix it with chkdsks and restore points-but no luck.  They're just getting me a new one!

I don't understand why people have to be so mean for no good reason sometimes.  I swear, why leave a mean comment on someone's Facebook status if they disagree with you on something. Get over yourself.

I have another date on Thursday.  We're doing dinner.  He's a bit intense sometimes-I'm not sure whether I'm just freaked out by some of the things he says because it is actually to early to say things like that, or I'm just being a ninny and those walls are getting in the way.  I think some of the things he says are in jest too-but that doesn't always translate through text lol. He's nice though-we'll see how it goes...

Isn't that the truth?

Have a great Tuesday peeps!
Love your faces!

Born to be Wilde

Hello lovelies!
It's Tuesday-which is quite possibly my least favorite day of the week.
It always seems to drag very slowly.
Seems like the fact that the weekend is really over sets in.
And it's still really far from the next weekend.

via
Max's Kickstarter campaign for his Eaten by Zombies! game closed out with just under $48,000.  That is AMAZING! That's 957% of what they were originally shooting for-such a HUGE success.  He'll be going to Germany in October to promote the game there thanks to the funds raised by this.  I'm so proud of him!

I love Living Social & Groupon, simply for the great deals I come across now and again.  I got a 20 page 8x8 photo book for only $10.  This would be a fantastic gift for someone, or even to keep for yourself.  I may keep it for myself... we'll see.  Buy from my link and I get points! :)

Did you guys see the Swappoween Announcement yesterday?  Rules and sign-ups will be posted tomorrow! I'm sooooooo excited!

Megan, Brittney & Julie
We went to the Bayou Friday night.  The roommate, Julie, Avid (Atheist David), my manager Brittney & her roommate, and my coworker Shawn & his partner Justin.  It was such a great time!  Saturday I went to the Farmers Market, Blue Boutique (adult novelty store) and a Halloween store with my Gayvid, and then hung out with Maxie and Josh watching Dr. Who.

via
Speaking of which-I'm a nerd and am now totally and madly in love with the 10th doctor.  It's funny because I liked the 9th, and when they changed I was like "I don't like this guy as much."  But now I'm crazy about him.  Julie keeps saying "You need to get to the Donna episodes!" and I keep saying "NO! The closer we get to her the closer we get to losing David Tennant and getting a new Doctor.  I don't wanna!"  lol

My dating profile has a quote on it by Oscar Wilde.  "If you are not too long, I will wait for you all my life."  So far only one person has mentioned it-and he quoted some Oscar Wilde, I quoted some more, and now we're having a lovely in-depth conversation back and forth.  I love people who know their literature. :)

Thought I'd link up with the What We're Reading linky party this month.

How are you lovelies doing?

7.05.2011

This Weekend I Learned:

  • I really love Hula-Hooping.  Especially now that I've gotten the hang of it a little.  I just want to do it all the time now! I just wrote about how obsessed with it I am over HERE.

  • I'm absolutely dying for it to be the end of July/first of August so I can go on my road trip along the Pacific Coast from SF to Seattle.  I'm so glad we decided to do that!

  •  Even though I may not see a difference in my weight, and the scale might not see a difference-people around me have.  They assured me they weren't just being nice, and they were being dead honest.

  • If a friendship takes a massive amount of work to keep it going, then it's work and not a relationship. (Thanks Josh!)  Sometimes you have to let go of those, no matter how much you love someone. In turn, letting go of the bad relationships makes me even more grateful for the ones who are around and filling my life with love.  I ♥ you all so much!

  •  Apparently peace signs and rainbows scream my name.  I guess I get that, and I like it.  :) I almost bought some batman floor mats-but they pointed out that the rainbow peace sign ones look more like me.  So those are the ones I bought.

  •  I really am not the biggest fan of the 4th of July.  Especially when it falls on a weekday, because I had to be up for work at 6am this morning, and the fireworks people were lighting off in the street outside my window went on until about that time.  It sucked!

  •  I LOVED the documentary called "Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead" and we watched it last night.  I am going to do a "Reboot" of my system along the lines of what he did.  It looks amazing, and I'll do a post with more details over at Health NOT to Health NUT soon! Time to buy a juicer! If you have Netflix, I highly recommend adding it to your queue.

How was your weekend?

    Random Tuesday Thoughts

First of all, Happy Summer Solstice/Midsummer/Litha
    Summer is officially here!

Last night I went to dinner with my grandmother and my baby sister for sister's birthday.  She's had a rough time as of late because she's getting divorced, and it was kind of sprung on her.  However, she was so very grown up about it that I was impressed-and proud of her!
Then my grandmother and I drove home (we had separate cars but were going the same way-since I had been at work before we went to dinner) and when she got off her exit I felt that old familiar ache. I'm 25 years old and still feel like that little girl homesick for her grandmother every time we part.  I remember waking my mom up in the middle of the night when I was little, I was bawling and needed desperately to talk to my grandma.  I cried for a while yesterday after we separated.

When I was about 4, at my grandma's house with her cats.
I should mention that I'm hormonal this week... So yesterday I wanted to cry over everything.

This past weekend was pretty chill.  Friday night we had a small group of friends over, some drinks, and a terrible terrible 70's movie that kind of made me want to bang my head against the wall (because it's so bad.) Then other than the Farmers Market on Saturday, I spent the weekend finishing up swap goodness, watching True Blood, and starting an extensive de-junking process.

My roommate has been all sorts of into Feng Shui, so he's been Feng Shui-ing his bedroom, and the rest of the living area-so I thought this would be a good way to get on board and finally clean up my cluttered bedroom.  A cluttered room is a cluttered mind, right?

Don't worry, there will be a post with before and after pictures. Then you'll see just how bad it was.

Yesterday I felt like the world's worst roommate/friend.  Sunday night I was so hormonal and frustrated that I lashed out and told my roommate I didn't like the random glasses with rocks and water he had set out.  They were part of the Feng Shui and they made him happy, but I was frustrated with it and shouldn't have said anything.  I came home last night (he wasn't home) and found that he had dumped them out.  I felt so terrible.  I cried for over a half an hour over it, until I finally composed myself and went to the store to buy him some pretty glass bowls so he could do it more decoratively.
    Something like this!
I still feel kind of bad over it, even though he assured me it was not an issue and he didn't think much of it.  He had just been using the cups as placeholders until we got something prettier.  I was pretty much an emotional mess the entire evening anyway-crying at the drop of a hat and over everything.  Poor man, he's such a great guy to put up with this with me once a month! I'm so lucky to have such an amazing friend!

Speaking of friends, I've been thinking more about cutting ties... I don't really want to, but some people cause me stress because I feel like I'm making an effort to keep in touch with them, and they never respond.  They don't comment on facebook-sometimes they'll respond to what I say on their things, but even that is rare and they almost never comment on anything of mine or message me to initiate a conversation. I just feel like they're not putting any effort into being my friend back... But they're close enough, or I should say were close enough, I don't feel comfortable just writing them off... :( It's depressing, and makes me just want to give up and stop trying.

But on the upside, I have this amazing family growing around me now.  With Elisa and Julie living next door to Josh and I, and Meggy and Jon coming around all the time-I feel surrounded by love.  There's always someone to talk to, something to do, and someone on my couch watching Movies with us-even on the weekdays now.  It's lovely.  My heart really feels so full-as cheesy as it sounds.  I am grateful for that.

    What's on your mind?

    RTT: Meth Makes You Skinny

As far as my six week challenge goes, I'm two days in and so far have done very very well.  The hardest part for me is drinking water (which needs to be added to the challenge) and getting up early to work out.  The water bit hasn't been as much as I need, but the working out has happened.  I am SO SORE! Ouch!

Also, I hate Julian Michaels.  I'm pretty sure I've said that before.  She may be a complete genius when it comes to working out (thus why I tolerate seeing her on my TV every morning) but man is she annoying to listen to.

Josh and I saw a commercial for physical trainers on TV. This little blonde girl shrilled "I love being a physical trainer because my clients want to be around me!"  I just looked at him and said "I'm glad she's not my trainer.  No fat girl wants to be told how to lose weight by a skinny blonde bimbo with a high pitched voice."

Speaking of Josh and I.  We have the most hilarious conversations.  Or at least we like to think so.  They carry on as if they are completely dead serious, until we break out into laughter at how ridiculous it gets.  Check it out:
    • Josh: Doctors used to prescribe Meth for weight loss actually.
    • Me: Oh yeah? If I started taking Meth I'd be skinny and the house would be clean!
    • Josh: But then you wouldn't have a toothbrush.
    • Me: But then I wouldn't need a toothbrush!
I suppose it's not the greatest thing in the world to have a daily calendar with cupcakes on it while you're dieting.  But I can't help it, I just love everything to do with cupcakes...

I got the beanies for my four winners from the last giveaway in the mail today.  Jessica, Jenny, Brandy, and Felicia-you should all have them by Friday at the latest. :D

Don't forget the giveaway coming up February 2nd - 6th.  I'm so excited to do another!

If you want to learn more about why I'm hosting that giveaway, and the blog hop it's associated with, click on the button below-you can even sign up to participate-it's going to be so fun!

RTT: Giveaways, Snakes & Bad Coffee

It's a little crazy today, so here's a muddled mess of random thoughts.
Brought to you by Keely over at The Un Mom.
    ***
First, while you stop by to read over my randomosity-
Don't forget to enter my giveaway!
It ends tomorrow (Wednesday) at Midnight!

    ***
That giveaway is the result of hitting over 200 of you lovely followers.

It is also the result of me crocheting all the time now.
Which Kristi says is because I'm not having sex.
    Kind of depressing...

But HEY-Benefit for my readers right?
My lack of love life is giving 3 of you a hand crocheted beanie in the color of your choosing.
I hope you all love me! :P

    ***
The coffee at work is gross.
Just had to add that in here.

    ***
I still have a bit of Christmas shopping to do, but all in all I've got quite a bit done.

However, I'm totally ashamed that I don't have any Christmas decorations up yet.
    How sad is that?

    ***

    This is my new buddy.
    I'm so crazy about here.
I'm trying to convince Matt (who bought her for his kids for xmas) to let me buy another snake and switch them out. I love this snake, and I never thought I'd want one before-but she's such a sweetie!

    ***
I've been doing the 12 days of christmas swap hosted by Sami.
My partner was the lovely Beth.
Click HERE to see what she's opened from me so far.

I have received a Witch Hat Spatula, a book about cupcakes (LOVE love love) and a coffee cup.  So far I am completely and utterly happy with all my gifts. I'm sure I will continue to be, Beth is AMAZING!

    So what about you guys?

A Few Random Points of Business

    Hello super lovely readers!
Let's start with a pretty picture!
[the pretty tree outside my apt]

    ***
There are now 201 of you publicly following me on Google Friend Connect.
You know what that means, right?
I get to do a Giveaway now.
I promised one after 200 follower, remember?
So look for it this week sometime, after I decide what it is.
    How exciting!

    Any suggestions?

    ***
Also, you may notice that your names are gone from the blog roll to the right.
Never fear, they're now up top in the "Blogs I Read" section! Go check it out!

    ***
I've also changed my email address, so if you want to contact me, do so here!

    ***

I'm going to start doing my spotlights again, so send me an email at the above email address if you'd like to be spotlighted here on my blog! I'd love to showcase some of my lovely readers! (You must be a follower to be in my spotlight-I'm totally loyal!)

So send me an email if you're a follower and put "Spotlight Request" in the subject.  If you're not a follower but would like to be in the spotlight, click that lovely little follow button in the left hand menu, and then send me a request! :)

    ***

Now bring on the other randomness...

The snow has been so crazy here, but I LOVE it, check out the pictures!

[pretty sure my car was hiding from me, it took me an hour to clean it off]

    [look, she has a mo-hawk!]
(Don't mind how dirty it is, it's winter so the carwash is pointless.)

[i swear, the sidewalk was shoveled before this]

With everyone complaining about the snow, I have to say I LOVE it!

    ***

I'm totally taking myself Christmas shopping tonight.  Not sure what for exactly, but we'll see once we get there.  Maybe I'll buy myself a pair of snow-boots!

    ***

    Happy Tuesday everyone!

    Oh Tuesday...

    This week's theme is "Birthdays"

    This is a photo I took of a cake I made for a friend's b-day.

    ***

This whole post is some random mash-up of Tuesday Memes... LOL

    * Loving this season of Dexter.  It has certainly been a bunch of fun, and Sunday's episode was a HUGE "Oh shit!" moment... Can't wait til next week.  Also still loving The Walking Dead, and I get to watch the season finale of Weeds tonight.

    * Crocheting has halted, which makes me kind of sad... I need to get back on it.  I also need to do the dishes, but all I feel like doing is moping.
    * Having kind of a rough time the last few days... I have to let go of someone close to me, a very dear friend, and I'm taking it kind of hard.  I'll probably have a separate post about it soon.

    * I also feel entirely too fat, and like nothing I try ever works... Even when I eat right or exercise, I'm still not losing anything... I really need to see a doctor to find out if there is anything else I can do... I'm at my wits end.

    * Now that it's winter, I never see the sun on a work day.  I go to work and it's winter gloomy (or if I"m lucky I get a small glimpse of the sun while it's blinding me on my drive) and by the time I get out of work it's dark.  Being dark at 5pm, is bogus.  I rather dislike.

    * Wow, these random things were pretty negative today-sorry readers!

    * On a positive note, I'm totally going to see Sara Bareilles in concert tomorrow! I'm so excited!

    * Also, only 3 more readers before I have to do a give away!

    * AND, I had 4 participants in Musical Monday yesterday! That was awesome!

    11.09.2010

RTT: Zombies, Trolls and Yarn-OH MY

♥ Hello lovees, I'm sad to say no one participated in yesterdays Musical Monday... I'm going to go ahead and keep doing it, I hope that people will start joining in.  If you didn't see it, go check it out. :) I did Linkin Park this week.

♦ I'm really digging the new AMC show The Walking Dead.  Watched episode 2 last night and it's brilliant! Plus, the zombies are done up really awesome!  Look at this one!

(Sorry Cassagram if you're reading this. I ♥ you!)
    Read why I'm apologizing HERE

♣ I'm thinking about disabling anonymous comments.  What do you all think?  Leave me a comment with your opinion please...
    • Benefits of keeping it: People who don't have blogger can comment, more of the outside word can leave feedback.
    • Disadvantages: People are pussies and don't own up to what they say, I'm leaving it open for more negative comments, and TROLLS.  Yes, the anon yesterday was simply a troll.
♠ I'm still not dating, in fact I'm kind of avoiding it as if it were a heard of zombies coming at me. However, I have a date-type-thing in a couple of weeks that I think I'm actually looking forward to.  However, in the span of my 40 minute drive home I manage to convince myself that I'm really excited, and then talk myself out of it.  However, I think the excited may win out in the long run... We'll see.

♥ That coworker that was driving me insane?  He quit.  Work is so much more peaceful now.

♦ I love this hat! My roommate just thinks it's silly.... But I love it.

♣ I'm doing the "I'm thankful for..." thing with my status' on Facebook right now.  I think I'll write up a post at the end of the month with all of them that I do.  That'll be fun.

♠ I'm doing the Cold Hands, Warm Heart Swap over at Sandy a la Mode.  It looks really cute, check it out.

♥ I'm also doing an Art Swap.  If you like to do art, and receive art, go check it out! :)

♦ I totally gave up on NaNoWriMo... Just no motivation... Maybe one day.

♣ I've been OBSESSED with corcheting beanies now... I've done like 5 in the last 2 weeks... That's what everyone is getting for the holidays.  I may even do a fun giveaway with it.  I'm dying to host a giveaway.  What do you think?

♠ That's all I have for you today lovelies!  Leave some love for me!

    RTT: Do Not Hump

It's time for Random Tuesday Thoughts again!
Are you ready for some randomness?

So yesterday many of you may have seen my blog where I came out of the closet as a bisexual.  I am SO touched by all of you who commented and left your love for me.  It was a lot more scary that I thought it would be, most people who are around me knew all along, but I've never said anything about it publicly.  Especially my Aunt Jenny, who is an amazing woman and simply said "Love you still." in response.  I feel so blessed to have so many people who honestly care about me.

Speaking of coming out.  That Mormon speech by Boyd K. Packer I mentioned the other day in my blog?  They changed it.  Take a look: UPDATED: Packer makes changes to sermon regarding homosexuality.

Moving on-Can someone explain this to me?  I took this photo on my way to work and my first thought was "If you say so..."

October always seems to be the most busy, almost all of my weekend time is already planned.  Here's what's coming up:
    • Friday, Oct. 8th: OctoberFest at Squatters, then a haunted house.
    • Saturday, Oct. 9th: David's Surprise bday party. (Pics to come tomorrow)
    • Friday, Oct. 15th: Zoo with Heather, then Jon's Birthday dinner.  (Sushi, YUM!)
    • Saturday, Oct. 16th: Last Farmers Market, then Chili cookoff at my place.
    • Wednesday, Oct. 20th: Melanie's birthday BBQ.
    • Saturday, Oct. 23rd: Max's Video Game Release Party, and Melanie's birthday.
    • Monday, Oct. 25th: Max's Bday, and full time conversion at work.
    • Thursday, Oct. 28th: Kristina's Birthday
    • Friday, Oct. 29th: Halloween parties galore (not sure where I"ll be yet)
    • Saturday, Oct. 30th: Halloween Party/Kristina's Bday party.
    • Sunday, Oct. 31st: HALLOWEEN!
Speaking of David's party (with pics to come tomorrow) it was the best party we've had in a long time!  I met new people, got to know semi-new friends better, and made an amazing cake! I'll have to post the recipe for it later.  It was so fantastic, and all celebrating someone I love muchly.

I'm going to try my hand at making chili  for the very first time for the cookoff.  I'm making Pumpkin chili, in spirit of the season.  I also get to make homemade cornbread, which I rather enjoy. YUM!

I just finished both Nip/Tuck and Veronica Mars.  Any suggestions for things I should watch off Netflix next?  I've already watched Weeds, Dexter, Angel, Firefly, Grey's Anatomy, and a few others I can't recall right now... Suggestions would be great!

I love you all!  Have a great Tuesday!  (If you're visiting from RTT, leave me a link so I can come visit you!)
