Musical Mondays: Little Lion Man

This weeks song:

Little Lion Man - Mumford and Sons

Weep for yourself, my man, You'll never be what is in your heart
Weep Little Lion Man, You're not as brave as you were at the start
Rate yourself and rake yourself, Take all the courage you have left
Wasted on fixing all the problems That you made in your own head

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?
Didn't I, my...

Tremble for yourself, my man,
You know that you have seen this all before
Tremble Little Lion Man, You'll never settle any of your scores
Your grace is wasted in your face, Your boldness stands alone among the wreck
Now learn from your mother or else spend your days Biting your own neck

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear? (x2)

Didn't I, my dear?

Ahhhhh......

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear? (x2)

Didn't I, my dear?

***

I just love their sound, and I love the lyrics.  I haven't listened to the rest of the album yet, but I'm excited to! They're unique, and neat! I dig it!

Friday Confessional

I confess...
That in less than an hour I'll be rocking out to the Linkin' Park concert that I've had tickets taunting me for over a month.  I am soooo excited, and even more excited because they were a birthday gift for my roommate, and he's nearly dying of excitement.  I love that.

I confess...
This little face is an amazing little brightspot in my day...  I can't even tell you how happy he (and his sister) make me.  I love my snake... But MAN is it good to have a pet that actually gets excited to see me and wants to love on me. It's adorable.

I confess...
Watching them obsess over their water bottle is hilarious.  They both want to drink out of it at the same time (most of the time) and if it leaks they roll around in the water like it's the most amazing thing they've ever seen.  They make me laugh!

I confess...
I spent a pretty penny spoiling them.  Look how spoiled they are.

I confess...
I am DYING to find out when Mamarazzi's next swap is.  Both because I want to plan mine around it, AND because I can't wait to participate.  So much fun coming up!

I confess...
I didn't get my contacts ordered again today, which is bad of me... I think I might order them from 1800Contacts.  Anyone else had experience with them?

I confess...
The beanies that people one in my giveaway are almost done, and I can't wait to send them.  I also want to open my etsy store up here soon...

I confess...
I still obsess over the little bump on my nose piercing, but at least I think it might be going down a tiny bit... I need to do more salt scrubs.

I confess...
I'm obsessed with Chocolate Milk lately.  It's bad, I know-SO many calories-but it's SOOO good!

I confess...
I kind of don't want to go to Little D's birthday now that it was moved to Chuck E Cheese all the way up in Layton... Decisions decisions...

I confess...
My poor snakes have snake mites... They get a good bath and cage scrubbing this weekend.  The spray to get rid of them smells like cloves.

I confess...
I have to make the decision of whether or not to keep one of the Snakes... Matt really wants her, but I feel like a bad mom if I give her away! Even though it's a lot of work to have two (since they can't be kept together) she's not extremely friendly, and the electricity bill almost doubled due to the heat lamps.  I don't know why it's so hard to decide... She'll just be downstairs for heaven's sakes..

Let Me Introduce You...

Meet Nimh:

[she was nibbling on my finger nail.]

So Matt bought Nimh and her brother to feed to his snakes.
But he made the mistake of letting me play with them.
Sooooo... Guess what?

I fell in love with her AND convinced him to let me keep her.
I wasn't going to keep her brother...
(becase we know how rats breed)

BUT
He has the most amazing temperment.
He's sweet and friendly and they're so close.

And after this-how could I not keep him too?

[he was just sleeping there for a while. SO CUTE!]

His name is Basil.
The girl is a little skittish, but the boy just hops on up when you reach for him.
They make me giggle every time.

Next step, get him fixed so they don't breed.
I'm going to have a crazy pet house...

Also, Matt is never allowed to let me play with the feeder rats again.
Ever. It's a bad idea.

My Happy List

Photobucket

I am happy that I have such a wonderful support system.
When my car broke down Tuesday, the first person I called was my grandfather-who promptly came and got my car (with my amazing grandma), put tires on it, and saved my butt.  My grandmother being who she is almost refused to take the money from me to pay her back for the tires-"Are you sure you can afford this?" Yes grandma. I'm fine.  Also, my boss who picked me up and took me the rest of the way to work, David who came and got me after work to take me to my grandparents to get my car back, and the roommate who kept his phone on and next to him (this is a BIG DEAL for him, haha!) just in case I needed him to rescue me too.  I love these guys.

I am happy for buying flowers with David.
After he picked me up Tuesday, we went to a little flower shop and bought ourselves flowers to prove that we don't need any men.  Huzzah, look how great they are:

[[i love how they look like we just collected them from the garden]]
[[also, the tulips are like-pretty, pretty, pretty-ANGRY!!]]

I am happy that my contact re-hydrated.
I dropped it and it completely dried out-which ended up being just another disastrous thing in my week.  But thankfully, I thought to stick it in the solution before donning my glasses and running to work.  When I got home, it was completely normal again!

I am happy that it is finally the weekend.
This week blew chunks.  Seriously.  I am SO grateful that it's over!

I am happy that I leave for New York in less than a month.
I cannot wait! It's going to be so completely awesome to get away and visit a place I've never been with two of my favorite coworkers.  These girls are awesome, and we're going to have a blast!

I am happy that I get to go to the Tattoo Expo this weekend.
With two of my favorite men! Especially Maxie, who I never see often enough.  It will be great.

Speaking of...

I am happy for Max!
The reason he's coming down is because he's demo-ing his game (that he made!) at a gamers convention.  It's so amazing to see him following his dream and going out there exploring what can be.  Also, the game is amazing, and I'm sure people will love it.  You can see what it's about HERE. (or on the pic below)

[isn't the art AWESOME?]

I am happy I learned how to make fabric rosettes.
They are seriously adorable! I'm using all that great scrap fabric sweet Beth sent me.
If you don't know what one is, here's a pic (though I didn't make these)

[[click on the picture to see this listing from marciwallace on Etsy]]

I am happy for swaps.
I love every single Mamarazzi swap, and am a little bummed I missed both Janna's and Brandy's swaps.  I can't wait for the next one Mamarazzi throws and for the one that Beth and I are planning (just you wait, it's going to be fun!)

What makes you happy?

Dear So & So

Dear So and So...

Dear Readers,

Wow, it's been forever since I've written one of these posts-and I know many of you have told me just how much you love them, and it's such a great release for me-so I'm bringing it back. :P I love this Meme, and I really need to do it more often.

By the way, you all totally rock my socks off. Every. Last. One. Of. You.

Loves, -Me.

P.s. T-Shirt Giveaways coming soon!

Dear Jelly,

I know you read, but this post is strictly not to be shared with anyone we mutually know. Ok?  Really really really not to be shared with anyone that doesn't wander upon the blog post themselves.  I just need to write it out without the fear that it'll get talked about.

 -Peanut Butter.

Dear Sneeze,

My shrink (a.k.a Roommate with his shrink face on) and I were discussing distance, and how necessary it really is in certain situations.  Especially when I slip into weekends like this past one... Back into that old role, which I both love and hate equally.  I realize that it's all of my own doing. I'm the one that realizes it's going on and continually places myself there.  Some kind of special masochism... It fulfills a need I have while preventing me from ever moving forward. My perpetual crutch.  It's my fault. I don't want to pull away-yet I realize some day I will have to-or you'll do it for me.

I'll deal with it eventually.

Dear Clover,

I want to runaway with you.  Not. Even. Kidding.  I think about it ALL THE TIME.

Take me, I'm yours.

Sincerely, your secret admirer.

Dear Certain Someone,

Pretty sure I need a break from the one sided friendship for a while.  Just need a breather.

Kthxbai

Dear Linkin Park,

Only 11 more days until I get to be at your concert! SOOOOOO EXCITED!

-A Fan.

Dear  Roommate,

Have I told you lately just how much I appreciate you and everything you do?  You're the best friend anyone in the world could ask for, and I am soooo lucky to call you mine too.  Thanks for being there.

Chin up, you do make a difference to so many of us.

I love you friend!

P.s. LINKIN PARK IN 11 DAYS!  Wahoo!!!!!

Dear Everyone,

Complaining on Facebook about people complaining on Facebook.

Does this make anyone else go "Hmmmm?"

Seriously.

Dear Shiny,

On the one hand, I totally understand where you're coming from-because I'm doing something similar with my heart at the moment.  On the other hand?  If you really like someone who likes you back-GO FOR IT BEFORE THE MOMENT PASSES YOU BY.  All this time you could be happy, if only try-all this wasted time...

It's not waiting for you; don't let it pass you by.

Dear Nutrageous,

Life is SOOO much better and less stressful without you in it.  I've never been so confident in a decision to cut someone out before.  It's a beautiful thing.

Don't care!

Dear Nose Bump,

Seriously, GO AWAY! Ha!

-I want my nose back.

Dear New York,

I cannot wait to be there.  Less than a month! YAY!

New York loves you-as a friend.

These are NachoMamaTees!

Get it?
Not yo' mama's Tees?
Ok, I'm a dork, but I LOVE this site.

See this beauty I now have to wear around?

I real-heart zombies.
Want one too? Get it here!

Where did I get it?
www.Nachomamatees.com

This tee shirt site is fantastic.  There are soooo many other ones I want from there (I really should start saving my money up for a few, I have a thing for interesting tee shirts-this can be my shopping list)  This website has a bunch of different pop-culture shirts like Facebook, Movie/TV shirts such as The Big Bang Theory, 80's Tee Shirts like Ghostbusters and The Oregon Trail, as well as just plain AWESOME Shirts (that I'm totally crazy about) like Hot Mess, I ♥ Nessy, and this beauty:

One of the best parts about these shirts is the fabric.  They aren't that scratchy fabric that is tight and uncomfortable around your neck; they're soft and flexible and I absolutely love wearing my shirt out and about.  It's a good time, and the reactions I get are AWESOME! :)

I highly recommend you check them out.

I Have No Idea What You're Talking About...

That is all.

It Was Rough-But I'm Lucky

So far, this week has been awful for me.

Monday:
I woke up to find out that my nose piercing has become irritated and I now have this awful little bump on it.  Went to work and forgot to eat so by the time I got off work I was not only sick from no food, but also sick from researching what could be wrong with my nose.  I was also an hour late getting off work due to two difficult customers keeping me over, then I there were two traffic jams on the freeway.  I managed to make my way off the freeway just before I ran out of gas, then took State Street home just stopping to buy some Witch Hazel and Saline because that is what the internet recommended for the piercing "infection".

I decided to stop at the piercing salon to see what they had to say, and they said it was NOT an infection-but an irritation because the piercing had been moved too much and my skin was swelling and reacting.  She said to leave it completely alone, even stop cleaning it, and if it didn't start to go down after a month then we'll take the stud out, let it heal, and re-pierce.  :( A MONTH? I have to live with this thing on my face for a month and there wasn't even anything else I can do to fix it? I think it looks awful... By the time I walked into the house I was in tears.

This is my "I'm seriously angry at this bump" face.
Don't judge me. :P

The roommate quickly assured me it wasn't at all noticeable, and we went to get beer and pizza for dinner.  Our plan was to spend Valentine's Day watching gory horror movies, drinking beer, and eating pizza.  We went to a local place because I wanted to get their garlic knots, but we forgot to order them and so I was disappointed (but dealing) with that-when I got home and found out they completely screwed up my order.  (Have I mentioned yet that it's that time of the month for me-so all of this felt like a complete and utter disaster????) Damn.

Tuesday (today):
I'm assuring myself that today is going to be a better day, and just as I start going through the severe constructions on I-15 my tire completely blows and the entire car is shaking.  Of course this happened where there is no shoulder on the road, so I had to keep driving on the rim until I found an exit.  It just happened to be the exit before the one I needed.

I wish I'd gotten a picture of mine
This isn't it-but it's closest to what it looked like.
Except my hubcap was also shredded, and my rim was all rusty.

Luckily I made it off the freeway and pulled over on the 5th south AF exit. I choked back my tears, flipped on my hazards and called my grandpa (about 40 minutes away) to explain what had happened.  Then I called my boss who was just pulling in at work and turned around to come pick me up.

Grandpa gets the car, puts on a new tire and grandma is following him in his truck but he loses her... He gets to my work with the car and it's one new tire, explains that he has a second tire for the other side because it's going to go out soon too, but we can't find grandma and the truck anywhere. We looked for a while, tried calling (but she let her phone at work) and in the long run he decided she must have just gone home so he took my car on home to find her and the other tire.

Except he calls me to tell me that she's not there.  So we start to worry big time.  See grandma had brain surgery a while back, and while she's a lot better now-she's still not quite her pre-surgery-self and we tend to worry a lot more than before.  So I stressed for about 40 minutes until Grandpa called to say she'd finally just come home.

I am SOOO lucky for such an amazing grandpa and grandma who rushed out to take care of my car while I continued on to work, and I'm also VERY lucky for the worlds best boss who would go out of his way to come pick me up-and offer me a ride home (which would be a bit out of his way) after work. Also,I'm lucky for a great friend like David who is picking me up after work, extra coffee in hand, and driving me to my grandparent's house so I can get my car.

I really am surrounded by the greatest people.

Sunday Citar: V-Day Cards

"A child's life is like a piece of paper on which every passerby leaves a mark."
-Chinese Proverb

I helped Matt's kids make Valentine's Day Cards today.
It was so a constructive activity while I babysat, while he went shopping for a certain little girl's birthday gifts.  Not only was it a way to keep them occupied, but it was incredibly fun to do with them.  They did all the drawing, and design, and writing themselves. I just helped cut things out and trace over with the glitter glue pens (since they were not only difficult for little hands, but messy too!)

In the process of letting them do their own spelling, I got to see some really funny words.  Like "To Dabby" and Kristina got spelled "Kresteena" by Miss H and "Kstena" by Little D.  It was adorable.  I had so much fun doing this with them.

What a great day!

So, Did My Straightener Rock?

Remember when I told you about ordering the new hair straightener?

Well they sent it to me, and I've used it several times, and I love it.

The best part for me is how the cord is connected.  It swivels so that when I move the straightener around it doesn't get twisted or anything.  Also, it's thinner than my old one, so I can maneuver it better.  I haven't tried using it to curl my hair, but I'm thinking when I do it'll work great because of it's shape.  It's a really awesome straightener, and I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking to buy a new one.  It's even rated one of the best hair straighteners out there!
