Ultimate Blog Party

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

I've decided to participate in this years Ultimate Blog Party hosted by 5 Minutes For Moms.  It sounds like a great way to make new bloggy buddies, and there's even a chance to win some prizes!

If you're stopping by from the Blog Party and haven't met me yet, or if you're new to my blog, let me give you a little introduction.  My name is Angie (I go by Miss Angie around these parts) and I'm a 23 year old-apartment living-single girl from Salt Lake City Utah.  I have a roommate whom I love very dearly, a wonderful family, and so many close friends that have become part of my family.

It is my dream to be a writer, and this blog has become my daily obsession and first stop along the path to that career.  The goal this year is to have at least one post a day, and ultimately about 365 posts by the end of the year.  Everyone who follows my blog is becoming part of my little online family, and I'm loving having them here as well as following along in their journey as well! I don't know what I would do without you all.

I find my blog to be pretty eclectic with what I post.  Mostly I write about my adventures in dating, working, and interacting with the world around me.  However, I quite often find myself reviewing books, spotlighting other bloggers,  talking about my foodie ways, and posting recipes and crafts that I enjoy.

So welcome to my little world here at My So-Called Chaos.  Kick off your shoes, pull up a chair, and make yourself at home.   Like my daddy always said "If I let you in once, you're a guest.  If I let you in twice, you're family. Help yourself!"  Basically that means my house is your house; i.e. I hope you'll feel at home while visiting my little blog.

As for this blog party-you don't have to be a mom to participate; which I dig.  I also like that they use the word "Mom" to include anyone who likes children or are interested in the same things as some moms; that's pretty cool.  Personally, I'm under that old belief that it takes a village to raise a child, and I have several friends who love to let me be a second mom to their kids.  It makes me feel special that they trust such a responsibility to me, and I love the kids as if they were my own.

Wanna see my honorary kiddos?

Kaden and Kailee
They belong to Ken and Kristina, two of my best friends that I lived with for a while.  I really got to play mom for a long time, and still do when I go to visit!

Devin and Hailey
These two are cousins to the two above, and I dated their dad for over a year and actually played second mommy.  I'm still really great friends with him, and so I get to see them now and again, and I love them to pieces!

Not forgetting-I get to be an honorary Auntie to this adorable kid:

Jaxson
Isn't that just the cutest little picture ever?

Do you know what I think the best part about having these kids around me often is?  I get to play mommy without being one!  Meaning-when it gets too real, I can give them back to their mom!  So that means, if I don't want to change the poopy diaper (I will usually) I can pawn them off to a parent.  If they start screaming and wont listen to me, it's time to call mom and dad.  However, when they're being cute and cuddly and smiley, I can cuddle up to them and feel very loved by them.  It's the best!

I know someday I'll want my own children, but for now I'm happy being the stand-in mommy, or the honorary auntie because there is still so much to do before I take on the responsibility of creating and shaping life; I still have more creating and shaping to do in my life first!
