I'm officially one of the unemployed.
While I knew this day was coming, however it seems like it was suddenly here.
Where does the time go?
Today I cleaned out my desk, took down all of the lovely post-it-notes hanging on my cubicle walls, and turned in my badge. I walked around the office shaking hands and receiving hugs, saying a few goodbyes and making a few confidence boosting statements saying that I plan on being back next week.
Driving home with the windows down and the music on high; I couldn't help but feel like everything is going to be alright. It seems the Universe has a way of providing for us when we most need it. My tax return came back, and I received some birthday money in the mail, so I have nothing to stress about on the financial front for a little while.
I feel like there is a big change in the air. I can smell it, and I can taste it.
I feel like everything is going to work out for the best.
A few of you are waiting to find out how my interview went, so I figured I'd stop and write an update for you all. Personally, I think it went very well. My ratings are fairly high, the lowest being 3.36 and highest being 4.25 (both out of 5), and I was commended on my attendance-which is very good. They want someone who knows what they're doing, and will actually show up to work the majority of the time; I did my best to convey to them that that was me.
I told them they wouldn't regret hiring me.
Because they wont.
Now the waiting game. They have to go through the proper process, so they're making their decision today and contacting the corporate offices. Those that are picked to fill the full time positions will be receiving a call from the recruiter next week.
Keep your fingers crossed for me friends, I really want my job.
(Oh, since Java asked, I do tech support for tax software)

ReplyDeleteI do believe in imagery. Short and sweet always is best. In this case, it would be the phone ringing and someone offering you the job and you saying "yes." End of image. The longer you stay in it, the more muddled it gets.

I know the waiting game all to well. Try to keep yourself occupied in the next week so it doesn't seem like you are just sitting by the phone waiting for it to ring. It won't ring that way. Trust me.

ReplyDeletesometimes being unemployed can be (oddly) truly exciting! it's like a fresh start and you have endless opportunities ahead of you. the best part is that it sounds like you have a great attitude about it! and it will all work out alright in the end- it always does.
