  1. That can happen! But when you do grow out of it at least you can sell it and have a good chunk of money from it to put down on another house. :)

  2. Congrats on being approved for the house! I saw your offer was accepted too! WHOO HOO! It will feel different but nice having a place called home that is 100% genuinely yours. Here's to new memories!

  3. I am really excited for you! The home buying process is so stressful and I completely understand all of your worries and your thoughts on everything. We just bought our first house last June and it was an experience. The houses I wanted (and all of my must haves) went out the window because we simply could not afford them ha ha! Thinking of it as a starter home is a good idea :D

  4. I would love to own my own home, but it is not something we have ever been able to afford to do so I just accept it for what it is, we rent but we have been in this home for coming up to 27 years

  6. Congrats! It's such a cute house and looks like it's been kept up very well. Can't believe how expensive it is. I can understand how stressed out you've been. The commitment and the expense. But I think you are going to be so happy! You can really make it your own.

  8. We're starting to dip our toes into house hunting and it's so intimidating. I'm realizing that I may have to set aside my fantasy of finding the perfect Cape Cod meets Craftsman farmhouse to live in forever and find a decent fixer-upper to start out in - everything I love is $190,000 or higher and everything we can afford is a boring brick ranch. Your house looks great inside - I think you will be so happy as you work to make it your own.

  9. It's so true! Having to redefine my expectations and set some ground rules for my realtor was something I had to learn-it's hard to look at something you're spending so much on and not think it has to be perfect, but there is opportunity to make it what you want. Just decide what things you can't live without and go with that to start.

  10. Thank you, I'm glad it's pretty updated so I can move in and focus on more important things like a garden. :)

  11. It's so expensive! It's awesome you've been able to rent for that long without the landlord changing things on you!

  12. Right? I seriously didn't sleep much this weekend, just tossing and turning with the anxiety of it all.

  14. We are lucky we are in public housing and when we entered it you had a open lease so you could stay as long as you wanted, things have changed now you get a 5 or 10 year lease
