House Hunting Update & Currently... April 2015

House Hunting Update & Currently... April 2015

Confessing... May of you may have heard on social media that the cute little house I put an offer in on fell through.  The inspection report from the last person who attempted to buy the little blue bungalow came back "absolutely horrible" and my Realtor highly recommended I back out from it.  What do I have to confess? I was relieved.  Honestly the neighborhood it was in was not one I loved-in fact two days after I put in the offer on the house a guy was murdered just two blocks from it.  So when I was no longer in love with a house out there I stopped looking in that area.  It was a relief!

Anticipating... Since then I've done a little more looking and I put in an offer on a townhouse in Murray!  It's in a much better neighborhood (close to just about everything you could need!) and I decided that while I'm in school and working full time that not having a yard to worry about or snow to shovel is a much better idea.  The townhouse needs quite a bit of updating (though is livable in the meantime), but it has a lovely stone fireplace and a nice private patio where I can put a potted garden!

Hoping... That I get the cute townhouse and everything goes smoothly with the closing.

Pinning... Ideas for potted gardens!  I'm obsessed with what I'm going to do and plant out on that patio.  You would be surprised at what you can grow in a container-even dwarf cherry trees!  Just look at this inspiration:

DIY Herb GardenDIY Ladder GardenTownhouse Narrow Garden Space

Reading... I'm still in the middle of the audio book of The Poisoned Pilgrim in the Hangman's Daughter series.  I'm also reading a lot of posts on DIY home stuff and reviews for things like Washers and Dryers.  I really wonder how well one of those All-in-One Washer Dryer Combos works...

Watching... Movies on DVD.  My internet has been down all week (Thanks Comcast blah-they're finally sending someone out tonight) so even though I subscribed to the new HBO Now, I have NOT been able to watch GoT yet.  Bah!  So here's what I've watched this week:

House Hunting Update & Currently... April 2015

The Voices:  You should seriously watch this movie.  It's so hilarious and so twisted, and it actually makes you feel a little like you're crazy while you're watching it because you're seeing things through his eyes.  Ryan Reynolds really pulls of that adorably insane thing well.

The Theory of Everything: I'd wanted to watch this for a while, and it was sweet, but long and kind of slow also.  It was a great watch for a little bit of historical information on Stephen Hawking though-and a very interesting relationship dynamic.

Disturbing Behavior: I wasn't sure how I'd never seen this before, but Angel gave me a box of DVDs and this was in it.  It was really a very interesting thriller that I enjoyed-even if Katie Holmes isn't the greatest actress... She was kind of blah.

Rock My World: This was also one of Angel's DVDs and it was really cute!  Kind of slow and so very 90s (though it came out in 2002) but really really cute.

Crazy Little Thing: Also from the box of DVDs Angel gave me, I LOVED this movie.  It was just so honest in the way it portrayed these two people and their friends, and I found myself sitting on the living room floor laughing really hard a few times.

Listening... I have a current playlist of the newest albums I've downloaded that I've been listening to on repeat. Basically these:

Eating... Well since I'm trying to buy a house and I've been trying to be super stingy the last few weeks, I went to Costco and bought a case of tortillas and a case of re-fried beans.  Honestly, I've been living on bean and cheese burritos and Easter candy.  So not healthy.  I finally made a trip to Winco and bought a bunch of healthy stuff the other day, so here's to eating better.

Working on: My final photography project, math homework, and buying a house.

Wishing: That I had better carpentry/builder skills.  I really want to build some book doors for my new house, some great wooden flower boxes, a fold out table for my patio, and an amazing wall/storage/Murphy bed combo for my spare room.  Just look at how amazing this is:

BEFORE & AFTER: GUEST STUDIO RENOVATION

Wanting: This fold out picnic table, but it's from another company and the website isn't even in English.  There has to be someone who can build me one right?

Dreaming... Of all the fun DIY home projects I may get to do one day... Ah.  I'm obsessed.

Feeling... Much less stressed about this offer.  I think maybe all that sleep I was losing last time was my gut telling me it wasn't right for me.  Hopefully this place is much better and I can move soon!

What's up with you these days?

Currently... February 2015

Currently... February 2015

Reading: I'm about to start Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, but I'm currently listening to the audio book Left Drowning by Jessica Park.

Watching: My shows are back, but I'm mostly keeping up with How to Get Away with Murder and Grey's Anatomy at this point in time.  Oh and Scandal, that stuff's getting really crazy.

Eating: A lot of salad, chicken, and ground turkey.  I made three recipes off of pinterest last week that were awesome and pretty healthy (low WW points.)  I made Skinny Taco Stuffed Peppers, Apple Oatmeal Muffins, and some shrimp tacos (which I can't find the link for anymore.)

Drinking: Water & Coffee mostly.  Some tea here and there.  I'm craving Bubble Tea though...

Wearing: Jeans and T-shirts.  Though most of Sunday I was outside in a tanktop and skirt-it's WAY too warm here in Utah for February.  We're talking 60s.  High 60s.  Just look at this cute photo I took:

February in Utah is NOT supposed to be Bright and Sunny

Preparing for: My trip to Oregon which is in just a few days!  I have gotten a lot of this blog ready to go for when I'm gone, and my coworker's are prepped-but I haven't cleaned my apt or packed anything.  I did make a big order on Amazon for things for my camera so I can take more pictures there.

Loving: That sticking to my healthy eating has been really easy.  I haven't gone over points once in the last few weeks.  I'm also loving my photography class.  It's wonderful, and today's class was an outing where we took photos at the park by my house.

Needing: To get better at going to the gym-for example-more than once a week. lol Also to pack, clean, and finish homework.

Hoping: That withdrawing from a class isn't really that bad, because I just did it-I couldn't handle the workload of all three classes and I missed the drop date. Bummer. Also that the textbook I bought for it is still valid when I have to take it next time.

Feeling: Guilty.  I took my cat to my mom's house so she has a place to stay while I'm in Oregon and man is she mad at me.  She just growled at me and hissed when I tried to say goodbye, and my sister says she hasn't left the closet all day today.  I was really wondering if she wouldn't want to be back there because she's lonely at my house-but I guess I know now that she much prefers my house! lol Plus, I totally missed her when I got home last night.

Wanting: A moon tattoo. More success in weight loss.  More views on my blog-they seem to have dropped from nowhere lately and I have no idea why.

Dreaming: Of the Pacific North West and that beautiful ocean I'll be standing in front of in a few days.

Currently... December 2014

Currently... December 2014

It looks like my last Currently post was in May-so I think it's time for a little update here!

Reading: Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon on my iPad, but I've been obsessed with Audio Books lately for when I'm in the car, working, or cleaning.

Watching: Gilmore Girls.  I've seriously binge-watched that entire series for the last month.  How did I never know what I was missing?  That stupid show made me cry more than once.

Writing: This blog.  There have been papers, lots of papers, but otherwise everything else is on the back burner.

Listening: Audio Books pretty much exclusively.  I just finished the entire Goddess Test Series and The Hangman's Daughter via Audible (reviews coming soon), and I think the next one I'll start is The Dark Monk.

Eating: Too many bad things.  I need to seriously get my diet back on track.

Drinking: Water and a LOT of coffee.  I found this local coffee called Highland Grogg and it's amazing.  I'm also liking Trader Joes' Wintery Blend coffee.

Caffe Ibis Highlander Grogg

Wearing: Jeans, fun t-shirts, and sweaters and scarves.

Working on: Christmas gifts!  Seriously, Kristina and I had a great idea and put it into play.  I can't wait to share it with you all after-so it's not spoiled.

Waiting for: Work to be over.  Josh is in town from Canada and will be at my house tonight and I'm DYING to see him.  I got the guest room all set up, went grocery shopping, and I've missed my best friend so much!

Loving: These Christmas gift ideas, Josh being in town, audio books, and spending time with friends.

Needing: To go back to the gym.  I've slacked bad and I'm starting to feel it.

Thinking: That I've just gotten used to living alone, and now Josh will be here for a month and I'll have to get used to it all over again.  I'm not complaining, I'd take him being here for however long or short he will be-I miss him so much. I'm wondering if it's going to make me really sad again when he leaves, or if I'll adjust faster since I've already done it once.

Feeling: Oh feelings... This has been a weird one for me lately.  I'm feeling that pull to start dating again.  I hate dating.  I want to just be with someone who's comfortable already-but I know I have to go through the dating process to ever find that.  I keep feeling like I want to reconnect with guys from my past, but I keep shaking that off. I need to move forward, not backward.  But man-the feelings.  I've been kind of emotional, and maybe a little lonely.  But that's the holidays!  In other feelings, I've been feeling a lot of compassion for people I tried to hate.  I never can hate anyone, but I have to watch my damned bleeding heart to make sure I don't fall back into anything.  Again, forwards, not backwards.

Forgiveness Quote

Hoping: That I do better in school next semester.  This semester was probably the worst I've done since I went back to school.  Not failing, but passing with Bs and Cs, and I don't like it.

Dreaming: Of a reality where no one leaves, and you don't have to date in order to find love.  No, I'm not being stupid about it-but man wouldn't it be nice if things were easier on the heart?

Being Inspired By: Amazing creative writers.  I really need to follow that dream.

May 2014 Currently

May 2014 Currently

It's been a little while since I wrote one of these... In fact it was just before school started last August.  It seems fitting that I should write one now that the school year is over and Summer is beginning.  I'm currently...

Watching: So much... I just started Penny Dreadful, which looks like it's going to be wonderfully Macabre.  Have been keeping up with the regular stuff, loving The Mindy Project the most but the season finale was this week and now it's over.  Sadness.  Mostly we've been marathoning Leverage and The Paradise on Netflix.  Oh and the little interviews they did for Orange is the New Black which comes back next month!  Oh and Cosmos.  Science is cool yo!

Listening to: Music wise, it's Head or Heart by Christina Perri.  On Repeat.  But also Lights Out by Ingrid Michaelson and a lot of French music like Zaz Recto Verso and Stromae.  Also podcasts.  I've recently gotten super addicted to The Savage Lovecast (Dan Savage is brilliant!) and Star Talk (Neil Degrasse Tyson is also brilliant!)  I love learning-and I learn so much from both.  Emotions and sex talk from Savage Lovecast, and all about science and space and deadly diseases from Star Talk.  It's awesome.

Writing:  This blog mostly.  I have started a chapter in my book-but haven't picked it back up yet.  Oh and my journal.  I've been filling it like crazy! It's almost time to switch over to a new one!

Playing: Duolingo (to practice my French) and my Nintendo 3DS.  Mostly Zelda and Lego games.

Eating:  Lots of salads in a jar (a recipe here), Yogurt, and Trader Joes Mac & Cheese.  Yum.

Drinking:  Lots of coffee & Water.  Also Beer, Wine, Lambic, and Jack Daniels Tenessee Honey.

Wearing:  Lots of clothes from Torrid.  Currently black skinny jeans, with a red button up and boots-but I did just put in an order for these gorgeous items that I can't wait to receive:

Waiting: For the weekend.  Also Summer things like camping, swimming, and traveling.  I can't wait!

Loving:  My life.  My friends. My family.  School being over.  And a certain someone being back in my life.

Needing: To get my ass to the gym and to start hula hooping again!  Also to make some art.

Wanting: To spend more time with that certain someone.  Yeah I know-I'm such a girl.  Oh well.

Thinking: That I think to much as always.  My mind is always spinning spinning spinning, and sometimes I think myself into a problem that doesn't exist.  But my logical brain is getting better at talking myself down.  But I'm also thinking about good things-lovely wonderful things and possibilities.

Feeling: So much, I don't even know how to sum it up here.  I have a whirlwind of emotions inside of me right now and that's okay.  It's better than feeling nothing at all-and a lot of those feelings are good.  There's a lot of change going on and coming up-so figuring out just how I feel about it is a process.

Hoping:  To love and be loved back.  That's my sincerest and most simple hope at this moment. ♥

Dreaming: Of a future filled with far-off destinations, writing, French, and lots and lots of love.

Being Inspired By:  The PizzaSisters4Lyfe movement on Instagram.  It's a group that I found out about through Okay Allison, and that was started by Lilly The Rad.  It's all about body love at any shape or size, and there are so many fantastic girls to connect with all over the world.  I love it.

Currently...

Here's a little personal update on my life, and what I've been up to and am working on lately.  Do you like these posts?  Do you do them?  My list, while updated and changed a little for me, was inspired by the lovely Sweet With Freaks and her Currently post.

Reading: Just finished The Between Boyfriends Book by Cindy Chupak, and just started The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman (finally!) and when I finish that it will be Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.  Hoping to read them all this month, as I finally have the urge to sit and read again!

Watching: My Hulu queue currently includes: American Horror Story Coven, The Originals, The Walking Dead, Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, Dracula, and Revenge.

Writing: This blog, and not much else.  I need to start writing books again.

Listening: I've been listening to full albums lately-Prism by Katy Perry, The Blessed Unrest by Sara Bareilles, and Cedar + Gold by Tristan Prettyman have been the most played this last little bit.  But I've been loving the Sara Bareilles station on iTunes Radio too.  I guess that says a lot.

Eating: More salads than ever before.  That and asian food of any kind-but that's pretty much always my first choice.

Drinking: Lots of water, Echinacea & Eucalyptus tea, so much Airborne/Emergen-C, and a little wine.  Gotta kill this cold.  Kill it with fire.

Wearing: Mostly jeans and fun T-shirts.  Though I'm excited to get back into scarves and sweaters now.  Also, nail polish.

Working on: Mostly school work.  I need to start working on Christmas product for my shop-eek it's coming up quickly!

Waiting for:  The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special and school to be over for the holidays.

Loving: All of the amazing people in my life that constantly inspire me and push be to be a better person.

Wanting: Some kind of change.  Good change.  I feel like it's on the way it just feels soooo slow.

Needing: To make more time in my life for exercise.  Seriously need to learn to like the gym. lol

Thinking: That I think too much.  And over-think too much.  Why on earth can I learn to just let things be what they're going to be and not agonize over the what ifs and could bes?

Feeling:  A million things at once.  But what stands out most right now is how I like this guy... And how scary dating is... And how I should listen to my previous answer (above) and stop over-thinking things and just enjoy it for what it is.  Worrying about anything in general needs to stop-because if it's to be it will be, and if it's worth it all the trivial stuff doesn't matter anyway.

Hoping:  To explore this and see where it goes.  Also, and you know-that he likes me back-because I am still a silly girl deep down.

Dreaming: Of a future where I'm graduated from school and doing something that inspires me.

Being Inspired by: Simplicity.  That's always a word I struggle with and work towards simultaneously.  Simplicity in my life, and simplicity in my mind.  Things can be quite simple if you let them, and I'm working on letting them.  Also just speaking my truth and not paying games with my own emotions, or with anyone else.
