Confessions & September Life Updates

Confessions & September Life Updates
Hello lovelies!  It seems like it's been forever since I had an actual life update here on the blog.  Since September is ending (where on Earth did it go?) I figured it'd be a good time to check in!

Personal Life
I confess... I've been so busy that I'm not even sure I have a personal live anymore.  The only down time I get has been either sleeping or stuffing my face full of white cheddar cheese puffs and marathonning House on Netflix-just something simple to give my poor brain a rest.

Drinking a Lime-A-Rita

I confess... I've also been drinking a lot of wine.  Usually just one glass a night (and not every night-I promise I don't have a problem), but man it helps calm me down and really gets me through some super long study sessions.

I confess... Last weekend I was too lazy to leave the house after hours of studying to get more wine so I opened the bottle of red wine I brought back from California in 2006.  Well, I tried to open the bottle.  The cork basically shredded into little tiny pieces and fell back into the bottle.  I attempted to use some tulle I had as a filter, which worked-but the wine ended up being kind of horrible.  I don't know why I saved it for so long... So instead I found this little Lime-A-Rita hiding in the back of my fridge and drank it instead.

Park City in the Fall Rain

I confess... I actually got to get out and be social last Sunday!  Jon and Meggy picked me up, and then we all picked Julie up and headed to Park City for the Park Silly Farmers Market.  I didn't get any other pictures because it was raining the whole time (we were nice and damp by the end) but it was so much fun to wander around and look at things with my friends.  I don't see them enough.

I confess... I'm a little big jealous of the gorgeous place Jon and Meggy are moving.  They'll be close to good friends, they have a giant pretty yard, and it's huge for the price.  It's not a mean jealous, I'm so completely happy and excited for them!  But it's got me thinking about buying a place again because I'm so tired of horrible neighbors and using a roll of quarters when I want to do laundry.

Tearing a Tire Apart

I confess... I was able to spend some quality time with my grandfather the other day.  It took me 10 minutes to finish my Math test (which I later found out was NOT because I knew it all-but mostly because I missed things... 83%) so I swung by to say hello and see if I could get my spare back on.  I also then helped my grandfather tear apart a four-wheeler tire and helped my dad replace the thermostat in my car.  Gender roles be damned, I didn't even break a nail.

I confess... It's looking like I'll be selling my old car to my baby brother soon.  More on that to come.

Beta Fish

I confess... My fish died.  I should really look through my blog and see how many I've gone through in the last little 5 years I've been in this apartment.  I think he was only the second or third one-how long do they live usually?  He was fine one day, and the next-gone.  All drains lead to the ocean right?

I confess... I'm still debating whether I'm getting another fish.  The tank is all set up and cleaned out so I could just get one and put him right in it, but I dunno.

Kristina and I at Salt Lake ComicCon 2014

I confess... I had a great time at Salt Lake ComicCon earlier in the month with good friends.  If you missed the photos you should definitely go back and see: Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3.

I confess... I had a really great time hanging out with Heather and Kristina a few weeks ago too!  It was so nice to get drunk and just relax with two of my favorite girls!  Also, if you've ever wanted to see what it would be like to get ridiculously drunk with me-here you go.

I confess... I have a date tomorrow night.  My first one in quite a while... I'll let you know how it goes.

I confess... Josh says he'll be in town for Christmas and that it'll be 27 days!  I'm so freaking excited!  I miss him like crazy.  This also informs me that I at least have to get my apartment figured out by then so he has a place to stay!  Some of the time will be spent at his moms, but I promised him a room when he comes to visit so he can be down in the city too.   I've been really glad we keep in touch so well over iMessage and REALLY glad he found a friend and great roommate up there.

Learning & Homework

Basically How I'm Handling Life Right Now

I confess... School may very well be ruining my life.  This is why I feel like I have no personal life.

I confess... I'm a horrible student.  I wait until the very last day of the deadline to turn things in for my online class and sometimes I'm left unable... I didn't realize I had a third chapter to read this week (the organization of my professor is sometimes a bit lacking-but I'm also lacking follow through) so I didn't read it.  Then I get to work today and realize I have two essays to turn in on it and I can't do them... They also require citations from the book, which I did not bring with me to work today.

I confess... I don't bring the book to work because the class is Intro to Human Sexuality and sitting in the office and turning to a page that has a giant dong on it... It just isn't work appropriate.

I confess... Being a bad student is entirely on me.  I have no idea how to get my crap organized and keep up with everything.  I feel like taking three classes was foolish, as I'm drowning here.

The Nine to Five-ish
I confess... Work has been really good about working with my crazy school schedule and letting me off last minute for things like my landlord calling to say they're coming in two days to put Central Air in.  Why in the Fall?  No idea.  Why when I have a perfectly good swamp cooler? No idea.  Why when I don't even have a real door on my apartment?  Not a clue.  They have weird priorities.

I confess... The crazy work and school hours are really wreaking havoc on my body.  It does not love me, and by Thursday morning dragging my ass out of bed is no bueno.  But, we do what we have to do, right?
Goodies & Pretties

I confess... I did a super pretty manicure with Aly's Dream Polish Pumpkin and Invite Diamond.  I think Invite Diamond is my new favorite topper.  I can't stop staring at them indoors or out!

  1. Ooh! A date! :) I hope it goes well. And I'm also jealous of all your wine drinking. I haven't had a glass of wine in a couple of months. I think this might need to be remedied this weekend.

  5. I'm sorry about your fish. That's a bummer.

I was a bad student, too. I totally understand. It's hard to unlearn once that habit of procrastination sets in. I hope you're able to find a good balance.

And I hope you have a great time on your date!

  8. There are a lot of updates in this post. I hope things settle down for you; at least your company is flexible with all the changes. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help. I'd slap a book jacket a book jacket on the Human Sexuality book and just put a piece of copy paper over any inappropriate graphics while I read.

Thanks for joining the Friday Confessional party.

  9. Wow! You have been busy!!! I love your still life photos. You should consider placing them in some sort of contest. I love the tire one. I hope you get some much needed rest or at least a little more relaxed life soon.

  15. Ha ha! I know what you mean though. I have a group project due by 11:59 p.m. and I have no idea if my partners are finished with their part. Eep!

  16. OMG I HATE Group Projects the most! I just had one in French, and trying to organize schedules with other adults that have other classes, full time jobs, and families is IMPOSSIBLE. Blech blech blech. I tried to convince the teacher in my review not to make us do it again-I only got 73% on the stupid thing (which makes me so angry).
