School > Life

I confess that I got a new haircut.  I need to dye my hair, but I stopped having my hair stylist do it because I just can't afford to anymore.  I didn't realize just how expensive school is.

I confess that my life has been all about studying lately... Mostly French, as I'm totally slacking on my Anthropology reading... I'm about a chapter ahead of my French class right now, which is good.  I'm learning to study everywhere... Home, school, work-and I'll even be taking my homework to my friends house this weekend.

I confess that I have realized that doing hours and hours of homework is so much better with a glass of wine... I've been on a white kick lately.  My two new favorites are Ste. Chapelle Riesling (tastes like honey!) and Alice White Lexia Moscato which has a very strong floral (but not like weird floral-rosey) scent and a nice crisp flavor.

Another good thing about studying French is awesome French-speaking friends who surprise you after class with French food.  I came home last night and we had les apèritifs before dinner (pickles, olives, wine, and baguette with pâté on it.  Then they whipped up a batch of buckwheat crêpes filled with mushrooms, ham, honey chèvre, and bèshamel sauce.  It was so tasty!

I confess that I was trying to plan a trip to Oregon to stay with Mr. Bingo for Fall Break, but it fell through because he has scheduling conflicts the one weekend I'm off, and I was super bummed about it.  I miss the Ocean and could use a nice break away from life to see a little bit more of this:

I confess that I just realized this morning that I couldn't have gone over Fall Break anyway, because I have the fun bus I'm volunteering for that weekend.  So then I was faced with trying to decide if I should go over Thanksgiving (my family is out of town but it's more expensive to travel then) or take one night of French class of another weekend in late October/early November.  I'm leaning toward the latter since I'm ahead in French, and allowed to miss 2 days of class... Hmmmmm....  I just really want to go.

On another note... I'm loving Lilypad Lacquer's holos.  We did a group order to bring them in from Australia, and look how stunning this is-it's called True Blood.  This polish also shown in both my wine bottle pictures above lol.  The second picture is the awesome tree my 8 year old goddaughter did on my nail with her nail art pens.  Isn't it great for a kid?

  1. I want to be friends with your friends and eat French food and drink wine! I'm glad that you're finding college challenging (and fulfilling).

Thanks for linking up for Friday Confessional. Have a fabulous weekend...even if it includes studying. (Mine includes working.)

  7. Ah, yes, trying to balance life and school is tricky. You'll get in the swing of things. Just as the semester is ending. ;-)
