♥ Charley was already gone by the time I discovered Life as a Semi-Colon through her very last post,
her goodbye. But this post... It is truly an awe-inspiring statement from someone who seems to have been much-beloved by those around her and by the followers of her blog. I'm just stunned at how wisdom and love one can put into that last letter-the letter explaining how they are no longer part of the world, and the injustices that carries with it. I am so awed by her last little bits of advice.
"So, in my absence, please, please, enjoy life. Take it by both hands, grab it, shake it and believe in every second of it."

Yeah, triple support for the Golden Rule. So many people (adults, as well as teens and kids) use the anonymity of the internet to be mean-spirited and hateful to people, as if the 'net was their own personal outlet for rage. It's not! I wish they could view it as a letter correspondence, or a phone call- where you're held accountable for your actions and attitude.
ReplyDeleteYes yes yes some great tips indeed 20yrs ago the saying "say it forget it, post it regret it" was never heard of now days it should be drummed into the head of all teenages and young people

ReplyDeleteSo true, it's so sad! They say bullying has gotten worse too because people don't have to face what their words do. They can't feel remorse because they don't see the look on the face of the other kid, or see how it actually affects them.
ReplyDeleteMy first reaction to that was: how sad, if we've lost the ability to empathize! But then I realized, this is how people can declare war and kill others- we either dehumanize the enemy, or separate ourselves enough that we don't feel that kind of emotional kinship and remorse. :(
