This weekend wasn't super eventful, but it was a good one. Friday night Julie came over and we grabbed takeout from Costa Vida then went home and started watching the 4th season of RuPaul's drag race. Julie and I gave ourselves manicures and Jon & Meggy came over for a few beers and watched with us. RuPaul's Drag Race, good friends, and nail polish all make me happy.
1 // Julie's awesome zombie heels. 2 // Costa Vida salad. 3 // Essie Nail Mail. 4 // I have so much polish.... 5 // my manicure from Friday night. Essie Licorice with Essie As Gold As it Gets. 6 // Thor didn't care if I had wet nails, he demanded pets.
Saturday morning we got up and went for brunch at a little local place called The Lazy Day Cafe. Their lemon pancakes are to die for-I seriously want them again. They made me happy.
Julie showing off her manicure.
Sunday I went out and spent way too much money. I've heard it said that we work ourselves to death as Americans and then go out and blow all the money we worked so hard for in an effort to relieve stress. Yep. Definitely what I did on Sunday. We ran to the mall because the roommate wanted to go to H&M, so I went to Sephora to pick up my birthday gift (free Benefit They're Real! mascara and a Benefit Watt's Up Highlighter stick!) and ended up buying a tube of Benefit Boo Boo Zap which is supposed to help with acne. I'm excited to try it. Trying new beauty stuff makes me happy. So does free stuff.
Well, while I was there I remembered that I was about out of Aveda's Damage Remedy (which I use every single day) so I swung by for some of that, and also grabbed a bottle of Aveda's Be Curly Curl Enhancer to try. Love it so far. Well then we stopped at Target... Grabbed some Peach Baby Lips, and found that their scarves were all 50% off so I ended up buying three only to come home and find out I owned all three colors I'd chosen... So I will be giving some of them away here on the blog soon! haha! Aveda makes me happy.
Then I went to TJ Maxx with Julie where I fell in love with a suitcase... Which ended up being way too big for carry on which is what I need. So I'm thinking I might get this one, what do you think?
What is making you happy?
where did you get those high heels - i'm in love. they are super great. have fun!! love that luggage. awesome picks.
ReplyDeletedo you drink wine or beer? (a bath?) get one & sit back & relax. take care. ( :
You had an eventful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose heels are weird, but totally rad. I want!
so yes i giggled like a 12yr old boy when i saw the word weenies in the title i'm awesome like that. Also RuPaul Dragrace heck yes I'm watching the new season now though no one stole my heart like Raja but i'm a huge rupaul fan. as for spending money why not you can't take t with you when you go so may as well enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI am so with you on spending money, I am pretty sure I have a serious spending problem. Money burns a hole in my pocket, and I am horrible if I am stressed. Spending money and buying things makes me happy, and I want to be happy of course ;D Love all of the nail polish. I just bought my first Essie a month or so ago and have fallen in LOVE with it!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are so cool, but I would break my neck!
ReplyDeleteAre those Iron Fist shoes comfortable to walk in? I've always wondered!
ReplyDeleteThose Zombie Heels rock!
ReplyDeleteI love spending money too. Shopping makes me happy. I'm not sure since I've never had them but I think Lemon Pancakes would make me happy too :)
Spending money... sometimes it is just needed. Love that manicure from Friday night!! :D
ReplyDeleteI so need a pedicure why because this short fat woman has trouble cutting her own toe nails let alone painting them
ReplyDeleteI want those zombie heels!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso...my 2 year old got super excited when he saw Julie holding up her pretty manicured nails and had to count them a few dozen times. So, thank you both for making us smile this morning!
LOL Angie I did the same thing yesterday.....I've been stressed about Shelley's school, and I decided that I needed some retail therapy, and I NEVER do that! I went and bought a stupidly expensive book with no discount at Anthropologie and a candle I didn't need. What in the world was I thinking???
ReplyDeleteLemon pancakes sound wonderful. I baked some lemon scones with poppy seeds this morning for breakfast.
Fun happy list with your fun friends as usual! You are blessed with some great friends, my dear.
Thanks for linking up! I'll get my blog post up for the giveaway this afternoon.
xo,
RJ
So much fun! Love the pictures...as usual.
ReplyDeleteEssie is my favorite polish! And those heels are awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteYay for free and beauty! I just bought my first mineral powder foundation (at Ulta) the other day. It's an investment, when you have to wear it daily for work, right??
ReplyDeleteAnother great anti-work stress reliever is exercise, which I feel less guilty over than blowing my budget, personally. *shrug* Both are good!
OK, tell me about highlighter. How do you use it? I see YouTube tutorials of skinny-faced girls using it, but I have cheeks, damnit, and I don't know where my cheekbones are because of the chubbiness and I'm not THAT Cherokee and it makes me totally lost with regard to highlighter, and bronzer, and blush.
