Kailee and her Broken Arm

My poor sweet honorary niece Kailee broke her arm last night.

Apparently she was running and playing and fell down the stairs.
Her aunt told me it was only 3 small stairs.

She completely shattered the growth plate in her elbow.

I talked to her mom  for a minute when they were on the way to Primary Children's to take her for surgery, but I didn't get to see Kailee because she was sleeping in the car due to the Morphine the other hospital had given her.  She went in for surgery and her dad texted me to tell me that they had to completely put the bones back together with 3 pins.  Ashlee called to tell me that they said it was the worst break anyone can make and there's a possibility she wont be able to use her arm again.

She made it through the surgery ok and they are discharging her this morning, but she has to come back next week once the swelling goes down to get a cast.

If you have a moment to say a prayer or send her good energies, I'd be grateful.  She's only 5, and this is going to be hard.  I'm praying everything gets back to normal eventually and that she wont lose the function in her arm.  She's so little and I love her so much!

  6. Poor little sweetie. :(
The good thing is, she's young and healthy and still growing, so if ever someone can heal from a break like this, it'd be her.
Let us know if there is anything we can do to help (get well cards sent to her, maybe?).

  7. Oh my gosh- I have never even heard of someone maybe not being able to use their arm again after breaking it! That poor little thing- she's so adorable. I'm sure it will all work out in the end. Kids' bodies are so resilient.

Also, just wanted to say thanks again for the comment, post, tweet...you really are spoiling me! You rock!
