20 Ideas to Make 2011 The Best Year Ever

#1
Fall in love all over again with everything.
With every friend, stranger, blade of grass, face, or memory.
Fall in love for the first time with that special someone,
or fall in love all over again with your lifelong partner.

#2
Smile every time you walk by someone.
Whether it's your best friend, your worst enemy, or a stranger.
Making their day will in turn, make yours.
You never know who's life you'll save.

#3
Chase those dreams you've been putting off.
Go back to school, write that novel, apply to that dream job, travel the world, etc.
You'll never know unless you try, but until you do-it will never happen!

#4
Take a vacation.
We work so hard sometimes, and forget to treat ourselves.
We are slowly working ourselves to death.
Get out, soak up the sun or hide away in some far off land.
It'll make all the difference.

#5
Document your world.
Years later each photograph will remind you of the times you had.
Especially someday when your memory starts to slip!

#6
Write it Down
Blog it, write it in a journal, just write it down.
Not only is it cathartic to get it out, but it will be great to read someday.

#7
Take up a new hobby.
It's always great to learn something new, and apply it.
My current favorite is crocheting, and I plan to make it a skill this year.

#8
Take a nap every once in a while.
Is there anything better than napping in a ray of sunshine?
Curled up with your favorite pillow in it's soft warmth?

#9
Read every chance you get.
You can lose yourself in another world, and it broadens your mind.
This is one I plan to work on a lot this year!
I challenged myself to read at least 15 books this year.
(which is significantly smaller than I used to, but with my busy schedule...)

#10
Surround yourself with as many good people as possible.
Spend as much time with your loved ones.
You never know if this could be your last year, they make it the best!

#11
Take time to commune with nature.
Whether you meditate, or just sit and think, it has an amazing relaxing affect.
Go camping, hiking, or just lose yourself in the grass in the back yard often.

#12
Treat Yourself.
Every once in a while you just have to eat that cupcake.
Or you just have to take yourself out to dinner.
Or buy yourself a pretty dress.
It's important.

#13
Leave someone love notes.
IT doesn't have to be a lover, it could be a friend or your mom even.
Just remind them why you love them, why they're awesome, etc.
It can even be anonymous.
They're happiness is sure to make you happy.

#14
Eliminate the Drama.
That stuff seriously drags you down.
I try to cut out drama, and people who cause drama.
I'm pretty sure we could all use a drama-free year!

#15
Find a new stess management tool.
Instead of letting it build up when you're stressed,
Bake (I do!), exercise (I should do!), etc.

#16
On that note: Excersize.
This is a big one for me this year.
It does so many good things, and makes you feel so much better.
Take up yoga, running, join a gym, anything!

A healthy exercise routine will make the year a good one.

#17
Take your vitamins.
We don't get nearly enough of what we need from our food these days.
Everything's processed, and half the nutrition is lost.

#18

Let go of the past.
What's done is done, and it cannot be changed.
You'll never be free to live if you're always chained down by past hurts.
Regret nothing, just move on and live life today.
No more what ifs, it's over and done with.

#19
Be Yourself. Love Yourself. Forgive yourself.
Forgive yourself for everything in the past, it's the past.
There is only one you.  You need to learn to love it.
Don't let anyone change who you are, be true to you.

#20
Live like you've never lived before.

  6. Angie, your blogs always make me feel so.... GOOD. I don't know how else to put it, but your blogs are like that random smile or kind action that we're just lucky enough to get once in a while from a stranger. This post makes me happy.

Plus, this gave a me a fabulous chuckle: "Years later each photograph will remind you of the times you had.
Especially someday when your memory starts to slip!"
