A New Award!

I received an award from Raven over at Stuperhero Extraordinaire! What a doll she is, and funny to boot! Check her out and her other 14 recipients!

Apparently the number is 15, so I'm awarding this to 15 bloggers I think really deserve it! Check them out, because they are fantastic reads! (I also tried to get people I haven't given awards to in the past.)

Other Side of the Fence - My newest follow, and a beautiful writer fighting for equality. Something I am also very devoted to, and I love to read what he writes.

Ordinary Art - This woman is a beautiful writer. She has been through a lot, and I can only dream of aspiring to her level of writing. It's moving, and artistic, and you are missing out if you haven't read it.

Angie The Anti-Theist - This girl has had such a rough life, from cutting to eating disorders, and she's now an atheist with amazing writing talents.

Katie la vie en Paris - A wonderful writer who happened to move to Paris with a Christian mission organization, and she writes about her adventures over there!

Holli's Ramblings - A good read living in Ghana, talking about observing their culture and how she really can't cook rice. (It's ok, neither can I.)

Us & Them - I love this guy. He's hiliarious (he even calls himself Captain Dumbass), and he helped co-start the Zombie News Network! Check it out!

Chelsea Talks Smack - This woman is not afraid to say what is on her mind! I envy that, as she doesn't censor, she just writes, and has created one of my all-time favorite blogs to read!

Apartment 513 - I recently participated in the 30 Days of Awesome with Lacey, and she is amazing! I relate to so many of the lyrics and quotes she finds, and she is a beautiful photographer.

The Un-Mom - Funny. Amazingingly-brilliantly-funny. She's the sponsor of Random Tuesday Thoughts, and she cracks me up!

Mama's Losin It - Mama Kat! Awesome beyond awesome. Her Writer's Workshop is a blast!

Lacey In Love - I've been reading her for a while, and I love her. She's cute and crafty and fanstastic!

Craft Happy Mommy - Lexi has fun ideas! I love all of her crafty things, and can't wait to try some of them!

Satan's Book Club - Banned books! Books really should not be banned, so this site takes a look at all the banned books and reviews them.

The Chick Geek - She has beautiful posts! I love reading them!

The Ice Cream Family - Bree is a really great friend of mine and she is one of the reasons I started my own blogger blog! Sorry she's private though, so you can't check her out, I just wanted her to know I love her.

Dear So & So: I Think I Like You

Dear FWB,
I really like you. In fact, on some level, I think I kind of love you.

No, this does not mean that I am asking for (or even wanting) a relationship. It just means I feel you are someone in my life worth loving, even if it is not reciprocated. Honestly, I don't really expect or need anything more right now, I'm just enjoying where we are.

The Universe doesn't give you the people you want; it gives you the people you NEED... To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you into the person you were meant to be.
I believe with everything I have that the people in our lives are there for a specific reason, and that we learn from them and we teach them something as well. When those purposes are fulfilled those people can then step back in our lives, and at times leave. I don't believe in forever. I believe in right now. I believe people can be with us throughout our whole lives, or many lifetimes, but our relationship with those people won't always be the same. Everything changes. Feelings change. People change.

I really enjoy our time together. Those evenings I spend at your house, learning things from you, talking with you, going on a long walk, playing with your dog... I even like the nights where we just hang out on the couch and watch sports, and I am not a person who normally likes sports; I just like being with you. So if I don't know the score, or which player just made the field goal, remember that I'm just content snuggled up to you watching you enjoy it. Also, just because I don't know much about your team or the players, I still love hearing the random facts that you know, because you're so cute when you're excited, and I love listening to you about anything you have to say.

Have I mentioned lately that when you play your guitar it's SEXY? I mean sexy beyond ridiculously-mouth-wateringly-attractive to me. Sometimes you say you think I'll be bored with it, but I could lay there and listen to you play for hours, even as in my head I'm debating reaching across the guitar and kissing you. However, I know if I do that you'll be done playing, so somehow I compose myself and sit back, listening. You're so amazing!

Anyways, I'm just saying. Don't be freaked out when I fall in love with you, because I fall in love... That's what I do, and if I didn't invest my heart, I wouldn't be the person I am. I wouldn't be this compassionate, sweet individual who cares about everyone and doesn't want to see anyone hurt. I wouldn't be this fiery, passionate person who loves with everything I have even to the point of being hurt. I don't fear the pain, I fear the apathy. I fear feeling nothing.

So bring on the loving with everything I have, even if it be an unrequited love. For now, bring on the enjoyment that comes from our time together. Bring on the happiness that comes from knowing I have a friend in you; and should it come to it, bring on the pain and that old familiar ache that reminds me that I'm alive. For heartbreak is just a reminder that you once had something amazing, and that you can survive even the end of it. I am not afraid.

Sincerely,
Me

Thursday Thirteen: I'm Excited!

It's Thursday, which means it's time for the Thursday Thirteen! This week I decided to list 13 things I'm excited for!

1. Scarves! I finally learned how to crochet and have been doing it almost nonstop lately! I sit at work and do it while I take calls, and I sit at home and do it while I watch a movie. I'm going to use this to my advantage for Christmas gifts, as the scarf I'm currently making for my roomie is turning out beautifully!
2. Josh's Birthday. The boy thinks people forget him, I want him to have a really good birthday so I'm going to throw him a party! Even if we do end up combining it with Thanksgiving, it will be a good time!
3. Thanksgiving. Josh and I decided to host a Thanksgiving dinner for our friends the day after Thanksgiving. I figure Thursday we'll be with family, so why not designate Friday for our other family, the ones that aren't blood? I'm so excited to do some cooking! I've been watching the Food Network all week, and I'm absolutely craving Turkey! Also, I get two whole days off from work for the Holiday (surprisingly, for Christmas I only get one) and I'm excited!

4. Being a Tier 2 for this Tax season. They put me in the Tier 2 queue to take escalated calls from the Tier 1 agents, and it's been awesome so far! I like teaching, so for me it's an opportunity to teach the new people and help them advance as well! It still may only be a seasonal job, but at least come April I'll be able to put Tier 2 on my resume next to "Job Title" and I'll have better luck looking for future jobs.
5. Matthew should be coming over tonight! I haven't seen him in weeks and I miss the hell out of him. I called him on my way to work today to make sure he was aware of the Traffic in his normal commute (which he missed since he crashed in SLC last night) and asked him when he was going to come see my new apartment. He said maybe tonight, and I'm excited to see him!

6. The Bayou. Josh and I were watching the Travel Chanel where they were cooking up some Cajun food. In the midst of our drooling, I decided to turn to my old friend Google to see if there were any Cajun restaurants in the SLC area. Low-and-behold The Bayou. I know my friend Sheena had invited me to the Bayou on several occasions but I never made it, now I want to go very badly! Sounds like she's game to go this weekend too!

7. Payday is tomorrow! WAHOOOOOO! Monies YAY!
8. Christmas Decorations. I can't wait until I can put up my tree and my decorations in my new apartment, I'm so excited!
9. Making Christmas Gifts. I think I'm going over to my gran's tomorrow to finish up a lot of the presents that I'm making. I'm so excited to have them done and ready to go, but I'm even more excited to be giving them to people!
10. In-N-Out Burger. I just saw on the news this morning that the first two branches of In-N-Out to reach Utah will be opening around 10am today! I'm so psyched! I can't wait to make a trip down and get me an "Animal Style" burger. Also, Josh hasn't ever tried it, and he's been missing out!
11. Getting a fish! I really just plan on getting a Beta fish but my friend who is supposed to go with me to pick them out (I'm actually waiting to get one until he can go) has other things in mind... We'll see how it turns out.
12. New Years. Can you say killer party much? Totally have to have one...
13. Buying myself a new camera! It's much needed and I think I'd better fork over the money before Christmas so I can take pictures! I don't know if that will actually happen, since I'm broke. One can dream right?
