Writers Workshop = Awesome. Sex with David Letterman = Not So Much.

Before I start my Writers Workshop prompts, I figure I'll jump into day 5 of my 30 Days of Awesome. After work last night I went to the grocery store with my good friend Matthew, and took Kristina's daughter Kailee with me. It was fun to hang out with the two of them for a while.
Then, Kristina and I left the kids with her hubby, and we made the drive up to Ogden to drop in on Josh. Yesterday had been such a crappy day for us both, and dropping in on him cheered all three of us up. It was so much fun! Spending a few hours laughing and chatting with two of my favorite people in the world was awesome!
Now on to the prompts! I'm going to try and do all three this week!
1.) What's cooking in YOUR crock pot?
Absolutely nothing. Want to know why? I'll tell you! My crock pot is currently in storage at my grandmother's house until I am able to get my own place. So when Joshy and I find an apartment, then there will be something yummy cooking in my crock pot!
2.) Find your one very favorite picture of Summer and write a poem about it.
Ok, this is just one picture I like from my summer, and it's been forever since I attempted poetry, so here's a Haiku! Hope this works...

Water crash and break
Sand squishing beneath my toes
I feel new again.
3.) Pay tribute to a favorite blogger!
Man, I love so many of the blogs I follow and I love reading them all! Just take a look to the left, I've posted a few lists of read-worthy blogs, and I recommend that you check out each and every one of them! However, here's a few that keep me entertained on a regular basis!
Close Family & Friends

  • Mama's Losin' It - Mama Kat hosts the Writers Workshop!

  • Above the Starlit Night - Miss Liss - My old swap pal!

  • Lacey In Love - Lacey is always so upbeat!

  • Chelsea Talks Smack - Such an interesting/blunt read!

  • The Adventures of Candy Graham - This girl is so great!

  • Blogs I'm Addicted To

4.) When I look in the mirror...
What I see in the mirror changes, depending on my mood. Some days I can see a confident and beautiful woman who is ready to take on the world. On other days, nothing but insults come to mind and I just berate the girl looking back at me.
5.) The top ten things I'd rather be doing than having sex with David Letterman
    • 10. Dying my hair.
    • 09. Working
    • 08. Doing the dishes (Oh how I hate to wash dishes)
    • 07. Organizing something.
    • 06. Dating (Dating also sucks)
    • 05. Shopping
    • 04. Hanging out with people I don't like.
    • 03. Attending a baby/bridal shower. (Shiver)
    • 02. Having sex with someone else.

    Random AWESOME Thoughts

Happy Tuesday everyone! I think I actually have some interesting thoughts this week, at least they're interesting to me, and that's all that matters right?

First off, I just found this picture in my mobile uploads on Photobucket... I had completely forgotten it even exists until just now, and it's super cute! It's me with little Mason standing in front of the Transformer guy at Lego Land. Aww, I really miss this kid and his sister and parents! I need another trip to CA soon... Plus, it's not often someone else takes a picture of me that I like, and I actually look kind of cute!

I've been drooling over the new Edgar Allan Poe (above) journal by Paperblanks. But I'm resolved to wait until I finish filling out the one I already have, which is the William Shakespeare one. Although I have to admit, looking up the links for this was a bad idea, because I just found out that there are MORE of these kind of journals.

    Wish list:
Is it sad that I'm actually worried that they wont have these by the time I finish writing in my journals? Is it even more sad that I am seriously contemplating just stocking up so that my collection of journals will all match when I am through?

I guess that means I should just make sure I write more so I can fill them! :) Logical answer right?

This is a perfect example of the kind of car that makes me want to hit it, just to put it out of it's misery. This picture is courtesy of http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/ and is probably the least scary picture on the site. The caption reads: I think this is the "poser barbie" dream car.

I've been sitting here giggling over this site for an hour now, and the funniest part is that it's all so TRUE. This is really the classy Hell-Mart clientele. Here are a few more examples of the hilarity you'll find on this site, but head on over to have a laugh! These are a few funny ones, but I just couldn't bring myself to post some of the really scary ones on my blog... Poor blog.

Say something bad about Bingo. I dare you. Go ahead, crack a joke funny man. Grandma got a full magazine and won’t hesitate to empty it on you!

Dear Skeezy McSkeezerson, thanks for moving your nightie so we could get a nice glance at whatever it is you inked above your crack to thwart off potential suitors.
“Alright honey, go put on your fancy camo pants and your best white tank like me….its date night!” – ‘You mean we gonna go to Walmart and play video games?! HOT DAMN, I’ll grab my Skoal.’

Waldo is so much easier to find when he’s out of the closet.
How's that for a few laughs? It's like when Melissa wanted Mark to go to Wal Mart the other day... His excuse was that he would have to get dressed, since he was wearing pajama pants, but someone else quickly prompted "It's Wal Mart! For them, it's as if you're wearing a three piece suit!"

On another note, my boss just brought me an optical mouse, and it makes me happy! Who'd have thought such a small comfort would be so great? I've been using a roller ball mouse for the two weeks I've been here and it was making me crazy! Now my mouse glides in peace... Fantastic! :P

30 Days of Awesome: Awesome Day 4!

I'm going to take this opportunity to post on day 4 of my 30 Days of Awesome. Yesterday after work I got together with Emily again, and we went hiking up by "Layton Castle". It was so pretty, and the air was crisp and smelled of fall! We had such a great time!

We made our own path and hiked down to the river, where we climbed out onto the rocks, and I snapped a couple of quick pictures.
Then we went along the walking trail, and found an awesome overlook point where we just caught the sunset. It was so pretty! I always forget how separate from the world you feel when you're up on a mountain overlooking the valley! We sat on a couple of rocks until the sun was almost completely down and we were shivering, and then we headed back to my place to watch Latter Days and sip on Hot Cocoa!
All in all, it was an awesome day with awesome company!

    My Awesome Weekend

Happy Monday everyone! (That's code for "Ugh, Monday's suck, but I love you all!) I didn't get enough sleep, I woke up late and thus continued along that line until I was late for work. Also, I've been here almost 2 hours now, and I'm still trying to wake up! That's a Monday for you, I'll survive it, because today is going to be a good day! I have fun plans after work I can't wait for!

In any case, I thought I'd report on my the first 3 days of my 30 Days of Awesome.

    Day 1: Friday, October 2nd

Let me start by saying this: Zombieland ROCKED!
This movie was fantastic! I was wary of everyone who said they thought it would be better than Shawn of the Dead, because let's face it, that's a pretty blasphemous statement. However, I would put it right up there at the same level with it. Best movie of the year, hands down! I laughed so hard!
It was also nice to get to see my friends, and make a new friend, who rocked. Kevin was such a doll, and it was so nice to meet him! I hope he comes around more often!

    Day 2: Saturday, October 3rd

"I refuse to live in a country like this; but I'm not leaving."
Josh, Max and I drove to SLC to watch Capitalism: A Love Story at the Broadway theatre. I'd never been to the Broadway before, and I really like it. Also, this movie was good, and infuriating. I couldn't even count how many times during the movie I couldn't stop myself from gasping or saying either "WTF?" or "Oh my god!" I was so angry by the time we walked out of the theatre! I want to go find some protests and start making change!

After the movie we went to the Gateway and spent a few hours wandering around heaven-on-earth, which just so happens to be the bookstore. It seems to be my favorite hobby lately, browsing books I can't afford and making a mental list in my head of what to get when I have money.

I'd been having a rough day, due to disappointment and finding out a friend was upset with me, but that all seemed to go away due to my super-awesome friend Josh, who cheered me up with a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I'm beginning to think that there isn't much in my life that can't be made better with this favorite fall treat of mine! Instant happiness!

Then we made the trip back home, and while we were looking for an iPod charger in Wal Mart, I decided to text the lovely Emily and see if she wanted to come over, and lucky for me she did! My friends all like her, and I had such a good time having her over and welcoming her into the group! Even if a couple of my dear friends seemed a little redneck, they're not always like that, I promise! ;) We played Munchkin and then watched Scary Movie! Fun times!

    Day 3: Sunday, October 4th

Sunday was awesome because I was finally able to catch up on some sleep that I'd missed throughout the week! I slept in, and took a nap! Then I spent the evening cuddling with Kristina on the couch while we caught up on Grey's Anatomy, Dollhouse, and watched an episode of Penn & Teller's Bullshit. We watched the PETA episode, and it once again solidified in my head that PETA is an extremist organization, and that I think most of them are INSANE.

I mean they were saying they want the TOTAL LIBERATION of all animals. Meaning: No testing (which I agree with), no Zoo, no Circus, and no pets. WTF? How are all these animals supposed to survive out on the street?

Here's a picture of Brad and Koshka. At this point, we were asking her if she'd rather be treated like a 4 year old or treated like a homeless person. Meaning: does she want to stay here and be fed or live on the street digging for rats in the rain? I think you all know her answer.

Sorry, the photo is really crappy quality because my phone doesn't do well in low light conditions. However, it's still cute, because he was talking to her and she was just sitting there giving him funny looks and licking his face! She's so cute, even though she's a little trouble-maker.

Check out Lacey at Lacey's awesomeness at Lacey in Love.

Check out the other Lacey's awesomeness at Apartment 513.

Both of these girls rock, and I love reading their blogs!
