How do you usually celebrate the holidays?
Traditionally, we spend Christmas Eve with my husband's mother and family. Christmas celebrations with my side fluctuate depending on schedules; there are five of us children so we get together when we can.
For Thanksgiving, we volunteer with our neighborhood association; we have a Christmas tree fundraiser and distribute trees that weekend.
Are you a Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopper?
If so, what are you planning to shop for those days this year?
We try to give a lot of handmade gifts, but as far as shopping, I'll look at Cyber Monday since I'll be volunteering on Friday. Likely, I'll be looking for deals on tools and outerwear for my husband, father and brothers.
What is your favorite holiday food?
I have to pick one...homemade mashed potatoes. Also, I love that someone usually makes sour cream raisin pie, which is my grandmother's recipe.
What's at the top of your holiday wishlist this year?
A new dining room table. My husband has promised to make me a farmhouse-style table.
Are you planning any awesome posts on your blog this holiday season?
This is my busiest time of year at work, so I have a post rolling around in my head about managing stress during the holiday season. And I'd like to put together a holiday shopping guide of awesome locally made products.
What is our favorite thing about blogging?
I love the friendships you build. Very few of my girlfriends live near me anymore so blogging allows me to have some "girl time."
Aubrey is a great bloggy friend, you should totally read her blog and make that friendship.

I knit my large presents for immediate family and my gifts for friends are usually compiled of a few smaller more meaningful things that I put together. I try to always remember something that someone has said they like, need, want, can't find, etc.

ReplyDeleteHaha! I am the exact same way. I always have these awesomely creative ideas and I'm all "Oh yeah, I could TOTALLY do that!" and then I spend hours on the project and end up with a huge mess. :D

ReplyDeleteHmm... I would say I'm about half and half. I usually buy a couple of gifts and then send out homemade/handmade goodies. Cookie platters, cards, Christmas tree ornaments, jewelry... That sort of stuff. This year will be a lot of cards and probably no cookie platters since I moved away from family and won't be home for the holidays.

I have been following on bloglovin for awhile and LOVE your little slice of the internet. I have been participating in a blogging challenge via Sarah Arrow (30 days challenge) and so far so good! My biggest obstacle so far has been to create material that is both engaging and useful. I mean, I love sharing paleo recipes, but how does that relate to my hair accessories brand? lol Looking forward to diving deeper into your posts!
