12 Days of Giveaways Day 12: A Year of KidsEmail & $10 Amazon Credit (Three Winners!)

Today is a great prize pack for a parent, or someone who has kids in their lives.  This prize is brought to you by KidsEmail.org which is an awesome company that helps promote safe email for kids!  If you want your kids to learn the internet and how to email (which are important skills in today's society) but still want to keep them safe, you should definitely be checking out KidsEmail.org.  Today I'm interviewing Brittany, who is one of the founders!

Brittany of KidsEmail

How do you usually celebrate the holidays?
We always celebrate with family. We love getting together, baking, putting on a family dinner and spending time with everyone.

Are you a Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopper?
If so, what are you planning to shop for those days this year?
I've only been Black Friday shopping twice, it was a little too crazy for my liking. Cyber Monday shopping is awesome, I love shopping from the comfort of my home :)

What is your favorite holiday food?
I love sweets, so anything related to desserts :)

What's at the top of your holiday wishlist this year?
Honestly, I don't have anything this year. Just excited to spend time with family :)

How did Kids Email get started?
KidsEmail.org was established in 2009. The concept and idea was written and designed to be a part of the solution to protect children and families online. KidsEmail.org was designed to compliment our Internet Safety product called My Kids Browser. My Kids Browser is an internet browser that only allows kids to go to websites that you choose.

What keeps you motivated to keep going with Kids Email?
We love that we are making a difference. We have connected with so many parents and schools that love what we have to offer, so knowing we are making a difference on kid at a time is pretty cool! And with the ever growing dangers on the www it's pretty rewarding to offer such a unique tool for kids!

KidsEmail is offering THREE lucky winners a year membership to KidsEmail.org & a $10 Amazon Gift Card.
Giveaway is open worldwide and ends 12/4/14 at 12AM.

Let's get to know her a bit!

Karen from A Peek at Karen's World

How do you usually celebrate the holidays?
I split my time between my parents. I usually stay in town, although last year I ran off to Central America to volunteer over Christmas and New Years. Normally the holidays are kind of low-key but very festive and fun. Lots of food, games, and hanging out with the family.

Are you a Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopper?
If so, what are you planning to shop for those days this year?
I sometimes like to go out on Black Friday just to witness the madness, but I rarely buy anything. I'm going to do most of my shopping online and with small businesses this year.

What is your favorite holiday food?
TURKEY! I can't get enough of fresh, oven-roasted turkey.

What's at the top of your holiday wishlist this year?
Um...I can't say. It's sort of a secret...

Are you planning any awesome posts on your blog this holiday season?
All of my posts are awesome! :-) No, really, I don't have anything particularly planned, but since this is my first Christmas with my boyfriend and his kids, I want to make the whole season awesome.

What is our favorite thing about blogging?
The friendships, definitely.

12 Days of Giveaways Day 9: 3 Tier Custom Necklace

Aw, we're up to day 9 of the 12 Days of Giveaways already... Where does the time go?  Today I want to introduce you to Brandie of Khaotic Cupcake!  She makes lovely personalized creations that would be perfect for your holiday shopping!

How do you usually celebrate the holidays?
We have a small gathering at either my moms or dads house for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We each give/get one gift, very low key but great to be able to take time off work to just hang out with the people you love the most.

Are you a Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopper?
If so, what are you planning to shop for those days this year?
I haven't even gone out on Black Friday, I have always been to afraid of the crowds! But after seeing Michaels Sale catalog I just might have to chance it!

What is your favorite holiday food?
I love Thanksgiving dinner, we usually have it multiple times through out the year! My favorite dish is Squash Casserole! So yummy!

What's at the top of your holiday wishlist this year?
This is probably the first year I don't have a "big gift" that i've been eyeing! My goal this Christmas is all handmade gifts, not all made by me but possibly some other handmade shop owners. So anything handmade would be on my list.

What inspires your lovely creations?
My store was inspired by my daughter, who has Cystic Fibrosis. I originally started hand stamping metal to make pieces to help raise money for a cure, then branched out into a store. When I am able to make pieces that aren't custom requests it starts with one pieces, usually a charm and then I come up with a saying to match.

Look at some of the fun stuff you can find in her shop-click on the photo to see the listing!

12 Days of Giveaways Day 8: Books by Anna Scanlon

12 Days of Giveaways Day 8: Books by Anna Scanlon
Hello readers!  For day 8 of the 12 Days of Giveaways we're here with Anna Scanlon, who not only blogs at Anna in Wonderland, but who has written THREE books!  She's going to give away two of them today, but let's get to know her...

Anna Scanlon

How do you usually celebrate the holidays?
I celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah--although for me Hanukkah has never been a holiday where you get presents (mostly due to the fact that it wasn't originally and we do Christmas as well). Since I've been living abroad for the past three years, I go to the US to celebrate with my family. This year, I'm coming back for New Year's so I can celebrate that with my boyfriend (who is British). For Hanukkah, we typically just light the candles and say the prayers and make latkes and sufganiyot (jam or custard donuts). We usually just get the latter from Krispy Creme (I'm not even sure that is technically kosher!)...but this year I may try to make my own. For Christmas, my parents and I get together with family near us and have a Christmas dinner and open presents in the morning. It hasn't really changed since I was little.

Are you a Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopper?
If so, what are you planning to shop for those days this year?
Since I'm living in the UK, we don't really have that as there is no Thanksgiving. I believe they have their sales on Boxing Day (the day after Christmas), but I've not really ever been in the country for Boxing Day. But since I've been in the UK, I've hosted Thanksgiving dinner for some of the American expats I've known throughout the years and some of my British friends. That's always a hit! Just no shopping added.

What is your favorite holiday food?
Everything! My dad makes amazing stuffing that we eat at Christmas. I also love a good sugar cookie and gingerbread cookies....and I like when Starbucks does the gingerbread lattes. We have a coffee shop here called Costa that is very similar to Starbucks and their gingerbread lattes are a bit better than Starbucks'. And of course, you can't beat Hanukkah, a holiday where you are supposed to eat fried food.

What's at the top of your holiday wishlist this year?
New suitcases. My old ones are beat up from so much traveling. But other than that, I just want to be healthy and happy. Sounds cliche, but it is cliche for a reason.

What inspires your writing?
Lots of things. I feel like inspiration comes from everywhere, and sometimes it is like the character is trying to tell you his or her story and you just have to write it down. I get a lot of inspiration from feelings, experiences and music. I was actually in the hospital in October and that inspired me to write a sequel to Unravelled. I don't know why, but in the pain killer haze I was in, I felt like I needed to. But I am trying to focus on my PhD thesis at the moment...although it can be difficult when inspiration is calling!

12 Days of Giveaways Day 7: Kawaii Set

12 Days of Giveaways Day 7: Kawaii Set
Today is day 7 of the 12 Days of Giveaways and I have a super-fun person to introduce you to.  Her name is Sarah and she blogs over at Oh So Kawaii and also runs a super cute Kawaii shop!  You should definitely follow her blog if you like geekery, kawaii, lolita, or just plain fun!  Her blog is sooooo cute-just like her!

Sarah from Oh So Kawaii

How do you usually celebrate the holidays?
My partner and I have family all over the country, so we alternate where we go each year. Last year we stayed in Adelaide (our home town) for Christmas with my family, so this year we are heading to Melbourne to celebrate with his :)

What is your favorite holiday food?
My family have a lot of Christmas traditions, one of which is our home made Christmas puddings. The recipe has been passed down for generations and we all get together to cook them a month before Christmas. Christmas Day, we heat them up and serve it with brandy butter, and it is soooo good! Another one we do each year is strawberry champagne punch... But that's not exactly food ;)

What's at the top of your holiday wishlist this year?
I have to be really boring and go with house stuff. My fiancé and I recently bought a house (which you can read about on my blog!) and there is so many boring house hold items we just don't have yet! Like a clothes hanger, good cooking knives, someone to fix our collapsing retaining wall. Mind you, if a pink chess chocolate head bow or a blue cream cookie OP found their way in there, I wouldn't be completely disappointed ;)

Are you planning any awesome posts on your blog this holiday season?
I've never really been much of a planner. I tend to blog about things as they happen, I have a pretty busy life! But with all the end of year Christmas parties, Lolita meets and swing dance performances coming up, there is sure to be something to interest you.

What is our favorite thing about blogging?
I love having such an open space to share my life and thoughts with other like minded people on.

Just look at the cute stuff you can find in Sarah's shop also!  Click on the image to see the listing!

12 Days of Giveaways Day 6: $25 Credit to Made in Neverland

12 Days of Giveaways Day 6: $25 Credit to Made in Neverland
For Day 6 of the 12 Days of Giveaways we have the absolutely lovely Kenzie who runs a lovely shop called Made in Neverland, and also blogs over at Hello Neverland!  This girl is crazy talented, and her stuff is all so lovely!

Kenzie from Made in Neverland

How do you usually celebrate the holidays?
We usually spend it traveling to various sides of the family. But this year, we get to host my parents and sister on Christmas Day--which means I get to be in charge of the slate of activities! I'm envisioning a big breakfast, Christmas movies, and an extended game of Pitch (if you've never played you HAVE to look it up... it's so much fun!).

Are you a Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopper?
If so, what are you planning to shop for those days this year?
I used to be, but the novelty wore off after a while. This year, my goal is to complete my entire shopping list with items that are either handmade or purchased from local stores. In fact, I've already got one item checked off--my husband and I made some infused olive oils for a relative!

What is your favorite holiday food?
Baklava. When I was a kid, my mom would buy me a whole tray as one of my Christmas gifts and I would nibble at it for ages. It's so yummy! A friend and I made some ourselves once in high school, but it's incredibly labor-intensive so I stick to the store-bought stuff these days.

What's at the top of your holiday wishlist this year?
Two things, actually: an external hard drive to store all my pictures on, and a weaving loom. I think the woven wall hanging trend is really beautiful, and I'm dying to make my own.

What inspires your creations at Made in Neverland?
Made in Neverland is stocked with gift and home decor items, which represents two things I think are incredibly valuable in life: being surrounded by beautiful things and loving on wonderful people. My work is meant to help people create environments that encourage, show gratitude to others, and generally craft a life that nurtures the soul and frees the imagination.

What keeps you motivated to create and sell your lovely items?
I know how satisfying it is to find the perfect decor piece or gift, and I think it's really exciting to get to be a part of that. Every time I ship off a new order I imagine the person opening the package, picking out the perfect place for their new piece, and standing back to admire the effect. Who wouldn't love that??
