RTT: Soda = Poop Water

Tuesday, and I'm feeling dog-tired.  It's my own damned fault really, I had to stay up and watch more Dexter, even though I was falling asleep on the couch already.  The Roommate is used to this by now, I most often always fall asleep when it's late and we're watching something.  To be fair, I do get up god-awful early, and have to work all day...  However, it doesn't stop me from feeling lame that I have to go to bed so early to be functional at work the next day.  Bah!

Anyway, it's time for Random Tuesday Thoughts!  Hosted by Keely.

* I gave up Soda on Sunday Night.  The only exception being special occasions when I'm drinking or something, otherwise, no more of that nasty carbonated High Fructose Corn Syrup keeping me fat and dragging me down.  I'm making some changes!

*Speaking of Soda, it's the perfect time to give it up.  I just heard on the radio (and promptly read it on KSL) that Hollins University did a study on over 100 self-serve soda fountains and found that 48% of them contained fecal matter! 11% were contaminated with E. Coli, 17% were found to have a bacteria known to cause Meningitis. Not failing to mention that most of what they found in there was resistant to one or more of the 11 different antibiotics they tested on it. They also found Staphylococcus (think Staph infection or MRSA), Klebsiella, and Candida (think yeast infections-GROSS!) My throat hurts just thinking about all this, I'm never getting a fountain drink again.

Read the article for yourself here.

* I think I'm going to go take a community class... There are about 4 of them that I'm interested in, so if anyone reading this can look in the left side panel toward the top, leave your vote on my poll and let me know what you think!  I have to sign up by Thursday!
* I love Coffee.  I wish I could marry it and have lots of little caffeine babies.  But I can't, so I wont... I'll just enjoy ingesting it instead... Please let me wake up a little more today...

* Just now, I turned around and went to remark on how pretty the sunrise was... However, those golden orange beams of light are bouncing off of the haze, and it's not really that pretty.  Right now, the air quality in my city is TERRIBLE.  This is the worst pollution I've seen in a long time, combined with the inversion-well, I should find my inhaler.

* Yesterday, after work, I ran up to Heather's and helped her dye her hair!  It turned out pretty well, and I think she looks fa-boo!
Don't you think she's gorgeous?

* Speaking of work, this week I only have one day off, and it's Wednesday.  So tomorrow I will be making most of the ONLY day I don't work, as Sunday (my other day off) will see me venturing into the office to earn some overtime... Let's pray for a nice fat check!

* I just found out the IHTC is a known thing now, so we can't have as much fun with it. That doesn't mean I don't love it anymore, we just need to let it simmer down a bit...

* I was also informed by The Musician Asshole's ex, the one he was with for 7 years and one day out-of-the-blue he tells her it isn't working and she has 30 days to move out, that I was a great source of morale for her.  That makes me feel good.  She's hurting still, understandably so, and has a hard time turning him away when he comes back at her and uses her.  He still asks her for things, still wants to see her kid (though we suspect that's an act of manipulation too, because he told another coworker he doesn't care as much as he says) and I suspect, still wants to sleep with her.  In her hurt and anger, she doesn't want anything to do with him, but has a  hard time saying no to him.  Yesterday, she thanked me for the support, and I'm glad I can offer it.  I think too often our friends don't really know what we're going through when they try to support us, but this time-I do.  I have been there with him, and since I was only with him a few months, I got over him and can offer my friendship to her as she tries to get over 7 years.

*Something strange happened last Friday... I was still Angry at The Asshole all day, but the minute I left work and turned onto the street, I let go.  I wasn't angry anymore, I just released it.  Yay for actually moving on!  However, that doesn't mean I still wont joke about it, because the whole damn thing is SO funny!

* I have a date-ish thing tonight... It should be fun!  We're meeting for coffee, so wish me luck with that!  I'm nervous!

* I'm pretty much obsessed with Little Birdie Secrets.  The crafter in me wants to go home and try all of these RIGHT NOW!  Wow, being a responsible member of society (i.e. Having a job) is really cramping my crafting/reading/writing groove... I need to be more motivated when I get off work...

Anyways... Now that your love of soda has been threatened, and you realize you can't breath in the greater Salt Lake area, I'm going to run off... Good luck out there in the big scary world people!

  4. Soda is so bad for you anyway- your teeth, your digestive tract, and your weight gain. I was raised without it, so giving it up completely was never an issue for me, but trust me- you're MUCH better off without it!
