RTT: I'm Addicted to Food Network

Well, since I've been MIA for nearly 5 days, I thought I'd better hop on here and say hello, especially since I didn't want to miss Random Tuesday Thoughts!

As many of you heard me mention (more than once) in previous posts, my baby sister was married last Friday. It took 8 stressful hours to set the wedding up and get ready, but it turned out beautifully, and my sister was happy. I going to post an entire post about it soon, so then I'll include photos from the wedding (since I've been far too lazy to get them uploaded to photo bucket unfortunately) but for now I'll share one of her Bridal photos.

My Aunt Jenny took the bridals, and they were fabulous! Check out a few other Bridals in her post HERE.

Since I left the house about 7am Friday morning (for the wedding) and didn't return home until after midnight, I spent the rest of the weekend being lazy. Most of Saturday was spent lounging around the living room riveted to the TV watching Anne Burrell (what the hell is up with her hair? Was she going for that "I stuck my finger in a light-socket look?) make Turkey, Paula Deen make sexual innuendos while making pumpkin pie, and Rachel Ray find her way back to the kitchen. For the record, I'm now addicted to the Food Network. My TV was pretty much stuck on that channel all weekend. Josh and I were inspired, and plan on having our own Thanksgiving Dinner for our friends next Friday!

That evening we ate at Tasty Thai on 13th south, and it was fab. Then we managed to make it up to Layton to see Ken and Kristina, whom we'd missed muchly!

Sunday Morning we googled local restaurants to do our traditional Sunday Morning Breakfast, and found one called the Blue Plate Diner on 21st and 21st in Sugarhouse. So we trekked up, and were pleased to find that it looked like a dinky little hole-in-the-wall place with a line out the door! The places that look the grungiest but are the busiest, usually have the best food, and boy did they! I had the traditional eggs benedict, and Josh had biscuits and gravy. They were SO GOOD.

The atmosphere in the pace was fun too! We had some fun (and super-cute) waiters with lots of tattoos, who kept up the conversation while we sat at the counter to eat. Josh sat next to a guy from San Diego who was in town for a Convention, but had heard of the local diner on TV, and we had a good chat with him and the waiter who told us they became infinitely more busy when every time that show re-aired. It's Guy Fieri's show Diner's Drive-Ins & Dives.

Being me, of course I went home and looked on foodnetwork.com and found the video and watched it. Yet again, I'm addicted and I think I will be visiting this diner many more times to try other things like their Corned Beef Hash, freshly smoked Salmon, and the Country Corncakes! I highly recommend it!

Check out the Video and drool over the yummy food!

ALSO, is anyone else annoyed with Carrie Prejean? She's a hypocrit and she even makes staunch conservatives and dumb-blonde-fame-cravers look bad. This chick was actually a Boner Candidate (I don't know if she won) on X96 the other day. Chelsea over at Chelsea Talks Smack pretty much summed up how I feel in her post titled "I'm gonna lose my shit for FIVE SECONDS." I really recommend you read it, it was intelligent AND hilarious. So true, my friend, so true..

Anyways, I'm going to bail on this blog for the day, I am working on crocheting a scarf and I want to do some work on it! :) I'm going to look like a bit of a dork crocheting at work, but oh well.

Anyways, check out more Random Tuesday Thoughts, or the woman who started it all. (Keely is utterly fab, really!)

While you're checking out my suggestion, you should read two of my favorite RTT peeps Captain Dumbass from Us & Them, and Raven from Stuperhero Extraordinaire.
