What is Musical Mondays?

Musical Mondays is a weekly linky party where we share a song we're into for the week, and talk about why we like it-or why it effects us.  Along with talking about music, I host a (usually) month-long music related giveaway.  This month I'm going to do 4 separate giveaways, one a week-each for a different CD I love!  Read on to learn more and check out this week's song/giveaway!

I've never been the biggest John Mayer fan, but when I heard this on the radio I knew right away that I had to get this single.  It helps that I am a Katy Perry fan.  This song is really simple, but the message is very clear-you can't force yourself to not love someone you love.  While I feel like maybe they're portraying that "I love him/her even if you don't agree with it" vibe, the message to me (and isn't that the best thing about music?  That you can take it and relate it to your life?) is that even if you can't have someone you want-it's okay to still love them. 

You didn't force yourself to love them.  You can't force yourself not to.

So in that spirit-just accept it.  Accept that even if that person can't be yours, or even if they hurt you/broke your heart beyond belief, it's okay to go on loving them.  Having them in your life may be another story-and that's up to you to decide whether you keep them around or cut ties for your own well-being, but it's okay to go on loving them.  While definitely not in-love with my exes, I probably love every person I've ever loved still, and part of me already will.  I'm just fine with that.

12 Days of Giveaways Day 10: 4 Literature Collection Eye Shadows from Printcess

Recently, my good friend Beth from Living a Goddess Life started creating new and unique mineral eye shadows, and then she decided to put those gorgeous colors of hers into an awesome collection and start a shop called Printcess.   What is even more fun is that her first collection is the Literature Collection, in which the colors are named after important literary terms like  Epilogue, Deuse X Machina, Hero, and Villain!  Her colors are stunning, and while the shop isn't quite up and running yet, we're starting the momentum for advertising and spreading the word early-because these are going to be huge!  Just look at these rich colors:
