5 Fave Friday

I know this is my second post for the day, but it was too cute to pass up.
Check out the other post here: Rockband, Risk, & Reward.
I found this theme from And This is What She Said.
But it's originally from Elycia.

1. Favorite quote of the week:
Amazing quote.  Someday I'll have a love like this.

"Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth 'you owe me.'  Look what happens with a love like that,
it lights up the whole sky."
-Hafiz of Persia

2. Favorite Pin of the week:
I laughed so hard, and I want this too!  I'm such a nerd-I'm aware of this!

3. Favorite blog of the week.
Art at Home.  Ricki Jill is so crafty and clever, and I love having her as a new friend after she participated in the swap Beth and I just hosted.  It was lovely.

4. Favorite song of the week:
Fall makes me want to listen to Breaking Benjamin, but this seems to be the only one I want to listen to by them this week.

5. Favorite event of the week.
Playing Rockband until 1 in the morning with the roommate(s) and the guy I'm seeing.  I seriously had so much fun, learned some new skill, and of course the evening ended with kissing so it was a win win for me.  :) It was lovely.

What are your favorite things this week?

Rockband, Risk, & Reward.

I Confess...
I only got about 2.5 hours of sleep last night, but it was totally worth it.  It was sooooo much fun.  The Guy came over and we played rockband with the roommate, Doug, and Julie-until the two early birds (Doug first, then Julie) had to go to bed and then the rest of us kept playing until about 1am.

I Confess...
He stayed a while longer, we wont go into details, but I will say I quite enjoyed everything about last night.

I Confess...
I'm honestly feeling much better after a text conversation we had the other day.  I was doing the "girl thing" where I was logically okay with the situation, but then I would over think it and get stuck worrying about things like him dating other girls or him not having feelings for me eventually.  I don't know what did it about that conversation, because it wasn't anything we hadn't already discussed-but something clicked.

I'm honestly okay.  Yes, my hope is that someday it will turn into something more meaningful and long lasting, but for now I'm enjoying what we have.  I see him a few times a week, we talk often throughout the day, and whatever "needs" I have are being met.  There is no need to rush into anything, and if it takes taking it slow or even dating more people (if I can ever figure out how to be a casual dater) to be sure that it's right before taking the next step-then that's what I'll do.

In the meantime I am enjoying spending time with this extremely intelligent and funny conversationalist that I'm dating.  It's rather enjoyable.

I Confess...
I've been pretty much slacking off over at Health Not to Health Nut, and I totally haven't been dieting, exercising or even Hula Hooping.  I'm only a little ashamed of myself.

I Confess...
I also totally slacked off at work this way.  My numbers were below average; which is not so good.  But hey-I did win 3 awards last quarter for my Knowledge Centered Support! The three awards also came with a large bonus, so I'm quite happy.

  • KCS L1 Pioneer Award - For dedication and perseverance in blazing the trail with Knowledge Centered Support and for helping others to realize the vision of KCS across the support organization.
  • KCS Einstein Award - For creative theoretical problem solving skills as the author with the highest number of knowledge base solutions linked by internal engineers for the quarter.
  • KCS Nostradamus Award - For excellence in published knowledge base content as the author with the highest number of links for a solution article for the quarter.
Terrible picture, but here they are.
I Confess...
I'm jealous of people with the new iPhone 4s.  Shawn and I have been playing with Siri for the last couple of days since he got his and it's awesome.  We say "Siri, tell me where I can hide a body."  Siri responds with "I've found 17 cemeteries close by." Or "Siri, what are you wearing?" and you get a response like "Metal, Glass, Silicone... Sexy huh?"  It's just fun.  The talk to text feature is awesome too.  "Siri, text David 'you're a dirty whore.'" Siri says (and pulls it up on the screen) "Texting David 'You're a dirty whore.' would you like to send or cancel?"  "Send."

I Confess...
My top 20 list of hottest male celebrities has totally changed.  I really need to write a new post on that for 2011.  :)

What do you have that needs confessing today?
Check out Mamarazzi's place to link up!

Both Happy and Sad

I am a very emotional and passionate person. When I feel things, I feel them with every fiber of my being and I soak them up as if it were water on the desert.  I saturate myself with emotions, allowing whatever I am feeling at the time to fill me from head to toe, and then I focus them on one focal point in my chest; the heart chakra.

Sometimes the emotions that I feel building and churning right in the center of my of my being are so strong it is physically painful.  They feel as if they will grow and grow until they finally burst out of my rib cage and leave me open and sprawled out in pieces upon the floor.  Having no desire to be a bleeding, bawling mess, I do my best to swallow them despite the headaches or sour stomach they may induce.  Somehow it seems easier than the explosion that could ensue.

This being the case, it's easy to see how I could be both happy and sad at the same time, and how I could feel those things equally as strong bubbling up inside me.  Sometimes I think to myself "I am so extremely happy" while at the same time simultaneously feeling the urge to cry at the thought of losing that happiness.  Don't get me wrong, I understand and welcome the fact that you need to have times of sadness in order to really appreciate the happiness-but this is different; and I really can't explain how.

All I can do is be me, and keep feeling everything I feel while learning to love myself for it all.
