These days, most of our lives are stored in a little tiny box that whirs and spins and brings us just about anything we wish.  Let's face it, we store so much on our computers-the pictures of our children, friends, family, that party where your best guy friend wore a gorilla suit and spent the evening throwing banana's at people... What?

So much stuff is stored in our computers-financial files, previous tax returns, recipes, random funny pictures, our calendars with future and past events, email, work presentations, school papers, etc.  We also know that computers are prone to things like trojans and viruses, human error (like spilling our cup of coffee on our laptops, or the 5 year old deciding the laptop needs to go swimming in the bathtub), or just plain good ol' random computer failure.  So obviously, we all know how important it is that we have a backup plan, right?

While external hard-drives are fantastic for a local solution, they aren't always your safest bet.  Being hardware themselves, they're subject to a lot of the same vulnerabilities your computer is subject to. Just last year my roommate and I both lost our External hard-drives to failure within a week of each other.  Mine started that horrible clicking sound that even the most un-knowing of computer user knows isn't right, and his just stopped turning on one day.  Luckily for me, I had a backup plan to my backup plan:.
