Man Candy Monday: Eric Himan

It's time for Man Candy Monday again.
Don't forget to come participate! :)

Please don't forget to check out my Musical Monday post!
(It's also about Eric!)

I have a few reasons for choosing Eric today, and I thought I'd share that with you now.  First of all, his new album Supposed Unknown is available TODAY on iTunes and www.erichiman.com.  I HIGHLY recommend this album, as I pre-ordered it and have had it for a week or two now and it's brilliant.

Eric is my Facebook friend, and I've always been very impressed with how personal he is with his fans.  He responds to comments and emails, as well as he went out of his way to wish me a happy birthday recently.  Rarely is someone so down-to-earth and nice in addition to their talent and pretty face.  He's a great human being.

In any case, the roommate (who introduced me to his music to begin with) and I have been begging him to come to Utah and perform for a while.  Unfortunately we're a little out of his way, and the closest shows he has booked to us are all about 11-15 hours away and on weekdays, so it wasn't feasible for us to make it out to the shows.  He's always been very good to assure us he'd try though.

Well, the other day he posted tour dates on Facebook and it said he'd be in SLC on the 23rd, but the location was TBA.  So I promptly messaged him and the conversation went something like this:

Me:  Hey Eric! I noticed that you're going to be in SLC on the 23rd, and we're sooo excited!
If you need help with setting up, or a stagehand-or just someone to take you to dinner
or help you find a place to stay, let us know, w'ere happy to help!
Eric:  I am still trying to get a gig over but nothing has been confirmed. I was talking with
Namoli about you guys and said, "Even if we play in the parking lot of our hotel, we
have to play something for Angela, Chad, and the gang". SO know that even with no show,
         you will still get one:).
Me:   We'll get something figured out too. Josh was like "Even if we have to just offer it at
our apartment we'll find him a place!" :) You are so awesome! We'll keep putting our feelers
out for places too, there are a lot of bars around here too we could probably find.
Eric:  We could do a house concert!:)
Me:     :D I'm sure we could even get a decent turn out!
Eric:   Well, screw the clubs! Let's try to do that. We will be driving back from Seattle that
day so it might be later in the evening 9pm or so. but that should be cool with us:)

Isn't that just amazing? How many artists would do that for a couple of fans?
He also mentioned it on his stageit.com Q&A performance last night, when we said we were tuning in and he said "You know we're coming through there in a few weeks just for you guys!" and we were grinning.  We're beyond excited.

I don't honestly know all the questions for Man Candy Monday, but you should go check out his music.  I wrote about him in my Musical Monday post today, which you should check out.  Here's some live video for you to see what I'm talking about.  :)

Here he is performing Dust live.

Here's him doing some a cover medley (all of which I have on my iPod with his original music too! It's great!  I have to admit, his cover of "Faithfully" is one of my all-time favorite covers-EVER! I love when it comes on in the car and I can sing along.

And the Protest Song, because it's one of my all-time favorites.

Don't forget to check out his new CD!

    Thanks for sharing!

Hey, I wonder what route they're taking to go from Seattle to SLC? Maybe I could caravan. :P
Heehee.....house concerts are so much fun. I would totally come out there for it (if I weren't already committed to be in Seattle for a drag show on the 22nd).

I hope his Seattle turnout is GREAT!
