We are all sophisticated young women, competing in a competitive business environment
or running a household. We wear high heels and dresses; we feed the boyfriends and
husbands while hosting a fabulous book club or dinner. Yes, as women we have to be
responsible and in charge of so many things. That’s why it’s so important to, every now and
then, have a carefree day. Skip the makeup, putt on the pink Converse and have some fun.
I usually start such days with ‘foods that make you feel like a kid’...
...Ice cream reminds me of summer holidays in a pink frilly bikini, with my chubby little
fingers greedily clutching the sugar cone as the ice cream drips down my chin.
...nothing beats fish fingers with tomato sauce (ketchup)
...Watermelon takes me back to school athletics in the sweltering summer sun. We usually
had huge watermelon fights at the end of the day. Your school crush would attack you with
vigour and for the next week you will be fishing out pips from your hair.
...Milkshakes used to be my drink of choice. No matter how fancy the restaurant, I would
always order a mushroom burger and chips with a huge chocolate milkshake.
...Scrambled eggs on toast. Whenever mom was too lazy to cook she would make us this
scrumptious meal. Always with a little heart made out of tomato sauce on top of our eggs,
and we were allowed to eat it in front of the TV. Bonus!
Yes, every now and then I enjoy a kiddy meal, it keeps you young (but unfortunately not thin)
What brings out the kid in you?
