RTT: How Can I Write a Novel in One Month & Learn Spanish by April?

I am finally moved into my apartment! Can you believe it? All of these months of talking about it finally paid off, as Josh and I moved in over the weekend. Our living room is still jam-packed with boxes, the dishes are still half unpacked and waiting to be washed before I stick them in the cupboards, and we have no Internet yet, but everything seems to be coming along fine. I LOVE it so much. I spent the night away from it last night and have been homesick for it ever since, I can't wait for work to be over so I can go home. HOME. What a wonderful word!

I'm participating in NaNoWriMo. For those of you who don't know, it's National Novel Writing Month in November, and the idea is that you write a 50,000 word (175 page) novel by midnight on the 30th. To be honest, I haven't even started brainstorming... I'm such a slacker...

Also, I need to learn Spanish. No, I don't necessarily want to, just feel like I need to in order to guarantee myself a job when Tax season is over. The company I work for needs Spanish Speakers really badly, and I have a feeling that if I could start helping with that I could guarantee my position becomes permanent and I wont get laid off after April 15th. I want to stay, I don't want to go looking for another job come April.

In order to Learn Spanish, I'll be putting aside my French studies a little. This makes me really sad, as I actually want to learn French. I may try and learn them at the same time, as long as I don't get things too confused. This might be a good approach for me anyway...

I am so freaking mad at my sister. I can't even begin to express my frustration towards her without various four-letter-words and many adult terms that aren't pretty on the eyes. She has been quite the bridezilla, and me being her maid of honor, I have tried to deal with this to the best of my abilities. Her baccalaureate party was supposed to be at my house Saturday, however none of her friends have cars (LAME) and thus can't make it to my house which is about an hour from them. She was stressing (for about the 1,560, 299th time) and texted me to complain. In the midst of my stress, and my not wanting to deal with her freak-outs, I snapped. Here's the conversation:

Me: Well, I'm sorry. Find somewhere else. I don't
know. I'm too stressed about the important things in my life right now to
add your party to my list!

Sister: Well thank you. Thank you very much.

Me: (Silently raging)
Don't you dare be a snotty &!^$#
to me! I'm already trying to do this party when I'm $#!^-*$$ broke as
%$#! and I have NO time-let alone you keep freaking out on me. I
don't know anyone down there anymore. I don't know any of your
friends! I've done ALL THAT I CAN DO. If you want something
different you will have to do it yourself!

Sister: Then don't %$*#*&! do it. Save your money and your time.

Me:
I'm sorry, I am completely at my wits end. I just moved in,
have absolutely no money and a full time job. I don't have any resources
left. You should just go out with your friends that night.

She responded a few choice things, but I basically just left it at that and stopped responding. I'm SO not doing this stupid party now, which is good because I couldn't afford it and I doubt I'll have everything unpacked and cleaned up by then anyway. Argh! She was completely ungrateful for any of my effort! I love her, but right now I really hate her too. I'll get over it, I just need to calm down... At least before the 13th, when I have to wear my overly-expensive bridesmaids dress...

***How funny! While I was writing the above rant, my sister texted me to say she was going to a friend's house that night (one of my old friends from HS actually, who happens to know my sister's fiance!) and she invited me to come along. I'm not so mad anymore.

Halloween 2009

This year, I didn't do anything on October 31st for Halloween, because I was MOVING! That's right, I am finally in my own apartment! I'll have to get pictures once we get all unpacked!
Instead, I celebrated with some friends the night before by co-hosting a party with my coworker Heather! We held it at her house with lots of liquor, Jungle Juice and fun! Here's Heather and her husband Mike in their adorable matching costumes!

Here is me with Heather and Tina, my partners in crime at work! We're the popular kids, yo! Haha!
Heather and Me! Aren't we gorgeous? Yes, I do have a costume. I'm a character from the new Ultimate Street Fighter. She is C. Viper. Yeah... I think I should have just told people I was a sexy librarian, because that's more what I looked like...

Tina and me!

Isn't Rorchak lucky? Ortie looked SO HOT in her little vampire school girl outfit. I wish I could pull something off like that! Oh, and under the mask is none other than our dear Joshy! Awesome costume!

Hot Ortie and me!

Josh (without his mask) and me!

Mikell brought a couple of her friends with her (the two guys) and Heather's friend Courtney is behind her in the middle. I have to say, Mikell's costume was super hot too!

Charles came as a white guy which is FUNNY as crap... His mask was freaking creepy though! Here he is posing with Mikell, but it kind of looks like he'll be killing her any moment now...

Here's what Charles really looks like, except the Fro. Though it looks like his real hair! Even people who see him every day had a hard time remembering that he doesn't have that hair! Haha!

All-in-all it was a really fun night! I had so much fun with my close friends and my work friends! These guys all rock!

30 Days of Awesome: THE END

My 30 Days of Awesome (inspired by Lacey) has come to a close. However, at Trey's request, I will remain awesome for the rest of forever. I am just that awesome. :)

So for all you lovelies that read (or who I think read, since I haven't seen many comments lately-tsk tsk-kidding! Kind of... :P) here is a recap of the awesomeness that was the month of October.

October 2nd: I went and saw Zombieland with my awesome friends! I also made a new friend named Kevin!

October 3rd: I went and saw Capitalism: A Love Story with my friends, and then we hung out at the Gateway. Then when we returned to Layton, my good friend Emily came over for a night of playing games and watching movies.

October 4th: I caught up on some much-needed sleep, and then cuddled up on the couch with Kristina to watch some Penn & Tellers Bullshit.

October 5th: Emily and I went up to the Layton Castle for a hike, where we managed to stop and sit on an overlook and watch the sun go down. Then it was back to my house for Hot Chocolate and movie-watching!

October 6th: I went Grocery shopping with Matt, and when I returned home, Kristina and I left the kids with Ken and drove up to Ogden to visit with Josh. The three of us sat and chatted, as well as watched some funny Youtube videos!

October 7th: I started making some really awesome friends at work! I also learned that eating Pop Rocks during a boring meeting makes it much more interesting. Then Kristina and I hung out, and cooked dinner for everyone!

October 8th: Kristina and I went to Hobby Lobby to purchase something to put on the ceiling in Kaden's room. We found some rolls of paper, and made the ceiling look like leaves! Then I went up to Josh's to hang out and do our weekly "Thursday-night-make-fun-of-shows."

October 9th: Emily, Josh, Angel, Ortie and I all drove to SLC to see 3Reasonz at Club Allure. The evening ended with me falling asleep as we all sat and watched The Texas Chainsaw Massacre on Josh's bed.

October 10th: Emily and I trekked to SLC to do some shopping and pick up my Bridesmaid dress. Later that evening, we also accompanied Josh and Angel to Nightmare on 13th, which was fun but not scary. After that Josh, Emily and I curled up to a few episodes of QAF.

October 11th: This morning started out with our traditional Sunday Morning Breakfast with Josh, Kristina and her kids at the Star Cafe. Then we wandered Target for a while, had coffee at Starbucks, and later that night I played games with Max and Ken.

October 12th: After work I met Max and had dinner at Carl's Jr. Then we stopped at HeebeeGeeBees and looked at comic books, and ended up at my house playing games with Ken!

October 13th: This was Tuesday night that I particularly did not want to be at home. Luckily Emily didn't either, so we wandered the Farmington Cemetery, visited 711 for Slurpees in Domo cups, and ended up watching Repo!

October 14th: This night I watched Howl's Moving Castle for the first time, and completely fell in love with it. I also managed to get to bed early for once! That was awesome!

October 15th: This was tax deadline day, so I worked a 10 hour shift at work. I ended up getting off an hour earlier than planned and I drove up to Ogden where I had Panda Express with Josh and Paul, and then we went to the Halloween store and then hung out at Josh's house.

October 16th: This day was blunt, and sparked many a good conversation with coworkers! I also ended up going over to Heather's house for the first time, and we had a good time hanging out with her hubby, his friend Bert, and Tom and Andy from work! For the record, I suck at Mario Kart when I'm really drunk!

October 17th: After working on Xmas stuff at my gran's, I met Josh, Max and Angel at the Gateway where we wandered B&N, and hung out in SLC. After I left them I picked up a good friend and gave him a ride home, where I spent the evening laughing and hanging out! I also made myself a really awesome bracelet out of a Guitar cord!

October 18th: I went to Sunday morning breakfast with Josh and Max, then hurried home (making a quick stop at Target for Diapers) to make it to Jen's baby shower, which was less torturous than I had thought it would be. After, Kristina really needed a break so I took her to Starbucks and Target, and then we drove up the canyon and hiked up to the lookout so we could get some piece of mind. It was good!

October 19th: This day I found out an old coworker of mine had passed away from Cancer. It was pretty sad, but I wrote a tribute to him in my blog. Read it HERE. The day wasn't so awesome, but he was.

October 20th: This day seems to have disappeared from my memories...

October 21st: I can't remember this one either! I'll write more here when I do!

October 22nd: I spent the entire evening over at a friends house, and we stayed up far to late chatting! I only managed to get 3 hours of sleep, but it was worth it!

October 23rd: I was really tired this Friday night, so I only managed to make it out to my friend Matt's house for a few minutes, and then to Heather's house for a few minutes. Then it was home to bed! It was still awesome though!

October 24th: Josh and I went apartment hunting this day, and after looking at a few places we found one we liked and we SIGNED THE LEASE! It was so exciting! Then that evening I made it home and cleaned the entire house within 2 hours, and was just hopping in the shower before the party started. This was a fun party where a few friends came over for snacks and we watched some of the Saw Movies!

October 25th: I spent this Sunday in SLC at my grandmother's house packing stuff up and helping her around the house. I finished some Christmas stuff up as well!

October 26th: This was a Monday and I was really really sick, so that was not awesome. It so-happened that my roommate and her kids were both sick that day too, so we took the kids to the Wee Care (they had 105 degree fevers!) and the awesome part was that we stopped for delicious Pumpkin Blizzards at DQ, and then the four of us cuddled up on the couch to be sick together while watching Halloween movies.

October 27th: I went up to a friends house and crashed at their place over night after a fun-filled evening of music and chatting.

October 28th: This evening I had to run to SLC to take my landlord the extra key so they could get in and paint the doors and trim in our new apartment. My coworker needed a ride down, so I took him to his errands and gave him a ride home. I ended up going to a friends house where we hung out and I crashed there.

October 29th: After work I followed Heather home so we could go to the Liquor store and to Wal Mart to get stuff for our Party we'd been planning. Then, Matt and I ran to the mall together, and finally I ended up at home baking cookies and dying my hair. It's a lot darker, I'll have pics up soon!

October 30th: During the day it was the dress-up-day at work, where people brought their families in to trick-or-treat. Then in the evening was the day I was able to celebrate Halloween. Heather and I had been planning our Halloween party for weeks, and it finally came to plan! I headed over early and helped decorate, and little by little the guests showed up and made it AWESOME!

October 31st: Halloween! I didn't actually do any celebrating or dressing up this day, instead I helped Josh pack and we started the first day of moving into our new Apartment! It was very awesome!
