Are You As Stoked As I Am for Amazon Prime Day? + My New Home Amazon Wishlist

Are You As Stoked As I Am for Amazon Prime Day? + My New Home Amazon Wishlist
Note: Most links in this post are Amazon affiliate links.

Have you guys heard about Prime Day?  I am so stoked for it.  There are so many things I'm going to need for my new home, and I'm really hoping a lot of them are on sale for Prime Day.  Fingers. Are. Crossed.

What is Prime Day?  Well it's a day hosted by Amazon just for Amazon Prime members, and they say there are going to be even more deals than Black Friday.  If you've ever shopped Black Friday on Amazon you know that there are some killer steals, so if Prime Day is even better-I'm all the way in.

Not an Amazon Prime Member?  Why not?  Seriously.  It pays for itself.  I mostly got Amazon Prime for the free two day shipping (which has saved me as much as my membership costs-seriously) but then there's these added benefits:
  • Instant Video Streaming service - I often find stuff on there I couldn't on Netflix or Hulu.
  • Prime Music - Stream music - they even have new albums!
  • Prime Photos - Secure unlimited photo storage.
  • Kindle Owner's Lending library - borrow books for your Kindle for free!
I'd highly recommend signing up for Amazon Prime before Prime Day-and you can get a free 30 day trial if you sign up.  If you're a student, it's even cheaper-it's like half the price.  Students sign up HERE.

So, since Amazon Prime Day is tomorrow-here are my top new home wishlist items on Amazon:

Frigidaire Energy Star 12,000 BTU 115V Window-Mounted Compact Air Conditioner w/ Temperature Sensing Remote Control, FFRE1233Q1.

Frigidaire Energy Star 12,000 BTU 115V Window-Mounted Compact Air Conditioner w/ Temperature Sensing Remote Control, FFRE1233Q1.
My new house doesn't have A/C, so I'm going to have to buy a window unit that will cover the whole upstairs.  This one really looks like it'll do the trick.  I even looked up BTU and learned how they'll cover, so I need at least 12,000 BTU for the 550 sq feet.

Hopkins 2x4basics 90110 Flip Top BenchTableHopkins 2x4basics 90110 Flip Top BenchTable
Instead of patio furniture, I'm thinking two of these adorable things.  How cute is that?  You have benches for just sitting on, and then it folds down into a table.  Sooooo cute!

Gibson Elite Urban Luxe 16-Piece Dinnerware Set-Turquoise

I'm really ready to upgrade from my current dinnerware set.  I've had it for years, it's old and chipped, and it's all country with apples and green-not my style at all.  With my new kitchen I want to move away from mismatched dishes and the red and black theme I've had with appliances and maybe transition to either white and turquoise or black and turquoise... I haven't decided yet.

Intex 18ft X 10ft X 42in Oval Frame Pool Set

Intex 18ft X 10ft X 42in Oval Frame Pool Set
I really want a little pool in my backyard.  Not something huge or permanent, but something small I can swim in that will help me exercise (without having to go out in public haha) and cool off during the Summer.  Perfect.

Ogrow Deluxe Walk-In 6 Tier 12 Shelf Portable Greenhouse

How fun would it be to have a cute little greenhouse in your back yard?  You could put some plants in it that are a little more susceptible to the cold and need their climate controlled a little better.  Cuuuuute!

I know I have some lofty ideas here, and half of them might not happen, but here's hoping I can eventually have all the fun things I want.  That's one of the best things (I expect) about owning your own place-you can actually do all the fun things you could never do in a rental.

What's on your Amazon wishlist?

Going Back to School & Handmade College Supplies

As most of you know, I've been talking about going back to school for years now.  You see, I tried going to college when I was 19 or 20 and failed horribly.  Mostly I believe it was because I was working 60 hour work weeks at minimum wage and also trying to take 12-16 credit hours... About half way through the school year the stress of all of that hit me really hard and I just gave up on school and stopped going.  A year or two later I decided to try again, still working 60 hour weeks but only limiting myself to 12 credit hours and no more; same result.  Leaving myself with thousands of dollars in student loan debt and nothing to show for it. The fear of failing again has kept me from applying to school.  I worry about failing again, or how long it's going to take to get a degree going to school part-time and working full-time, or the costs... etc.

On a whim last week I decided that enough is enough.  I can't believe I've been working for a company for over 3 years now that will reimburse my tuition if I go and have not been taking advantage of that.  I applied at the local community college for Fall 2013 semester (which starts in just over 2 weeks!) and filled out a FAFSA.  It was done.  I was accepted.  I had Orientation last night, and after that a placement test, and registering for classes.  Most of them are full, so I guess I'll just be taking what I can get into this Semester.

So in the spirit of Back-to-School Shopping, which was always so fun as a kid, here are a few items I think will make life easier for going back to school and which are really cute & fun!

Going Back to School & Handmade College Supplies

1 // I am in big-time love with this Dark Teal Canvas Double Strap Bag.  It looks like the perfect bag to work as a school bag and purse (so I don't have to carry both) and it looks like it'll fit any books I may need plus my laptop and other supplies!  My only concern is that it's made in Malaysia, but her feedback is really good-I'm just not sure when it'll get here if I order it!

2 // Isn't this pink elephants zippered pencil case just adorable?  Such a cute pattern!

3 // This little pear notebook looks fashionable and practical!

4 // If I'm going to be putting my laptop in a bag, it needs a sleeve! This handmade padded Macbook Pro sleeve with pockets looks perfect! This pattern is alarm clocks, but I might like her others more.

5 // I LOVE the messages on this 6 pack of pencils.  The creator also has a bunch of really different colors and and sayings, as well as fan-girl pencils for Mean Girls, Gossip Girl, Sherlock, Big Bang, and more!  It's fantastic!

6 // Organization is key to surviving College, and these Take Action Notepads not only inspire you to make things happen, but have little checklists on them to keep your to-do lists together! Love!

7 // So I completely adore my Plum Paper Planner (as seen HERE) and think it would be perfect for staying organized during school.  This is the one I have, but with my name instead.

8 // Again with the organizational loves here-this 18 Month Wall Calendar seems so clean-cut!

9 // For those days when it all seems so hard, a little inspiration hanging on the wall can help remind you what you're fighting for, and this Get Up and Try Print would do the trick I think!

10 // Shabby Chic Union Jack Laptop Sleeve?  Adorable!

11 // I love these little library card notebooks!  They seem perfect for carrying around!

12 // This Tree-Rings Duffle Bag is practical, and very cool looking!  Perfectly unisex!

Travel Wishlist: Barcelona

Oh there are so many places on my travel wishlist... One of the many being Barcelona, Spain.  Most of Europe is very near the top of my list, and I'd love to just take a month off of work and travel around Europe making stops in a lot of the major cities and even more of the smaller cities to really get a feel for the culture. Why does Barcelona reach so high on my list?  Here are just a few reasons, I dare you not to start dreaming of Castilian Spanish, dreamy European men, and a city full of history, culture, and sandy beaches.

So have you booked your ticket yet?  If I had a passport right now I swear I'd be gone so fast... It's even easy to look for places to stay in Barcelona, and a lot of them are pretty inexpensive.  Maybe next summer? Or goodness, maybe even in the winter when travel rates are low and the weather is crappy back home-sunny get-away anyone?

Don't forget to stop by this morning's post and link up your July Goals!  Maybe travelling is one of them?

Datevitation Love Coupon Giveaway

Valentine's day is coming up, and whether you are singled or coupled you start noticing all those pink fluffy things in the store.  Chocolates, stuffed animals, flowers, and more-all just staring at you from the shelf in their own non-unique way.  What should you get that special someone?  The same old boring pink box of candy you gave them last year? Another stuffed animal holding a hear that they wont know what to do with?

There's an alternative to the same old thing, and it's Datevitation.

Datevitation Love Coupon Book

Datevitation is the web's first and only online custom love coupon book-and unlike previous pre-packaged coupon books available in stores-this can be customized to fit you! You wont be giving out some generic book of ideas-these are all things you want to do with the person you are giving it to.  Or you know, things they'd want you to do but you save for special occasions.  ;)

Valentines, Birthday, or Anniversary love coupon books

While most of these times these books go out to a significant other-they don't have to!  The little people in the coupons can be set to boy/girl, girl/girl, boy/boy-so not only does it fit all types of love (which I am so happy about) but you can give them out to a friend, parent, sibling, or anyone you want to spend time with!

Datevitation is offering my readers $10 off their order using code CHAOS at checkout!
That is a huge deal, since books start at only $20-that's half off-it saves a pretty penny!

I totally customized one of these adorable books in the hope that this new thing I have will develope into enough of something to give him the book.  I picked a cute V-day cover (shown below) and four activities that were easy enough for a relationship this early on. So if all goes well, this new cute boy will get these 5 coupons and I am hoping it does-because they sound like so much fun!

Also, Datevitation is a small business run by a husband and wife team-and  you know how I'm all about supporting businesses like that!  Check out this video to meet Alex and Olga and learn about their marriage proposal:

Want to win your very own Datevitation Book?
Datevitation has offered 1 book with 5 coupons (a $20 value) Free! You can also add extra pages for $1 each! Shipping is $3.50 and tax will be applied to residents of CA.  Shipping to US only.
