Are You As Stoked As I Am for Amazon Prime Day? + My New Home Amazon Wishlist

Are You As Stoked As I Am for Amazon Prime Day? + My New Home Amazon Wishlist
Note: Most links in this post are Amazon affiliate links.

Have you guys heard about Prime Day?  I am so stoked for it.  There are so many things I'm going to need for my new home, and I'm really hoping a lot of them are on sale for Prime Day.  Fingers. Are. Crossed.

What is Prime Day?  Well it's a day hosted by Amazon just for Amazon Prime members, and they say there are going to be even more deals than Black Friday.  If you've ever shopped Black Friday on Amazon you know that there are some killer steals, so if Prime Day is even better-I'm all the way in.

Not an Amazon Prime Member?  Why not?  Seriously.  It pays for itself.  I mostly got Amazon Prime for the free two day shipping (which has saved me as much as my membership costs-seriously) but then there's these added benefits:
  • Instant Video Streaming service - I often find stuff on there I couldn't on Netflix or Hulu.
  • Prime Music - Stream music - they even have new albums!
  • Prime Photos - Secure unlimited photo storage.
  • Kindle Owner's Lending library - borrow books for your Kindle for free!
I'd highly recommend signing up for Amazon Prime before Prime Day-and you can get a free 30 day trial if you sign up.  If you're a student, it's even cheaper-it's like half the price.  Students sign up HERE.

So, since Amazon Prime Day is tomorrow-here are my top new home wishlist items on Amazon:

Frigidaire Energy Star 12,000 BTU 115V Window-Mounted Compact Air Conditioner w/ Temperature Sensing Remote Control, FFRE1233Q1.

Frigidaire Energy Star 12,000 BTU 115V Window-Mounted Compact Air Conditioner w/ Temperature Sensing Remote Control, FFRE1233Q1.
My new house doesn't have A/C, so I'm going to have to buy a window unit that will cover the whole upstairs.  This one really looks like it'll do the trick.  I even looked up BTU and learned how they'll cover, so I need at least 12,000 BTU for the 550 sq feet.

Hopkins 2x4basics 90110 Flip Top BenchTableHopkins 2x4basics 90110 Flip Top BenchTable
Instead of patio furniture, I'm thinking two of these adorable things.  How cute is that?  You have benches for just sitting on, and then it folds down into a table.  Sooooo cute!

Gibson Elite Urban Luxe 16-Piece Dinnerware Set-Turquoise

I'm really ready to upgrade from my current dinnerware set.  I've had it for years, it's old and chipped, and it's all country with apples and green-not my style at all.  With my new kitchen I want to move away from mismatched dishes and the red and black theme I've had with appliances and maybe transition to either white and turquoise or black and turquoise... I haven't decided yet.

Intex 18ft X 10ft X 42in Oval Frame Pool Set

Intex 18ft X 10ft X 42in Oval Frame Pool Set
I really want a little pool in my backyard.  Not something huge or permanent, but something small I can swim in that will help me exercise (without having to go out in public haha) and cool off during the Summer.  Perfect.

Ogrow Deluxe Walk-In 6 Tier 12 Shelf Portable Greenhouse

How fun would it be to have a cute little greenhouse in your back yard?  You could put some plants in it that are a little more susceptible to the cold and need their climate controlled a little better.  Cuuuuute!

I know I have some lofty ideas here, and half of them might not happen, but here's hoping I can eventually have all the fun things I want.  That's one of the best things (I expect) about owning your own place-you can actually do all the fun things you could never do in a rental.

What's on your Amazon wishlist?

Have You Heard of Jet? Sign Up Before Tomorrow and Get 6 Months FREE!

Jet.com

I've been seeing people share Jet.com related things for a while now, but hadn't thought much of it until my friend said he got a job there.  He was telling me how it was opening up (right here in Utah!) and it was a site that is supposed to give Amazon a run for their money.  Apparently they're trying to keep all of the goods as locally sourced as possible so that they ship faster and it stimulates local economy, which I just think is neat.

They also seem to treat their employees well so far.  He's one of the first 13 or so employees and they are starting him out at a decent living wage and giving him stock options-you have to love a company that's good to people like that.  So when he suggested I sign up, I did-and now I'm just getting extra excited about it.

Basically their site isn't open yet, but you can sign up now to get in line for a membership and the more people who sign up using your referral link the closer to the front of the line you get, and the more options you can unlock.  I managed to unlock a free 1 year membership-how cool is that?  Further down the line you can unlock actual stock options as a customer. That would also be really neat.

Jet.com

If you sign up before February 6th (that's tomorrow so don't delay!) they give you a free 6 month membership-no credit card required, all they ask for is your email.  So don't miss out and make sure you claim your free 6 months.  You might as well try it out right?

This was not a sponsored post, but I did want to share my referral link with you.  Please use my code if you decide to claim your free 6 months.  I'd do the same for you. =)

Do You Use Amazon Prime?

Hey everyone!  I'm on my way back from Oregon today, and wanted to ask you if you use Amazon Prime?  I signed up for it last year and I'm HOOKED!  Not only do they have their own instant streaming movies and TV shows where I can find things that I couldn't find previously on other streaming (ahem, Veronica Mars!) but the free shipping has been the biggest thing I've used!

Amazon makes it so easy to order just about anything you need at reasonable prices, and the free 2 day shipping is a godsend if you're a big online shopper.  Also, the fact that you can update to overnight shipping for only a few dollars is amazing-I even got special Saturday only delivery for my camera (since I didn't want to leave a big ticket item sitting on my porch all day) and it was still really inexpensive which was amazing! I would highly recommend it! Other reasons?  Well Amazon's support has always been totally spectacular.  Each time I've had to work with them (through no fault of theirs) they've quickly resolve any issues and made it feel like a breeze!

Did you know it's even cheaper if you are a student?  If you have a .edu email address you can sign up for a student rate Prime account that you can keep that pricing for 4 years!  They also offer 30 day trials whether you're a student or not, so if you want to give this a try without any commitment yet (though I'm sure you'll sign up for real after, I loved it!) you can do so by going HERE.
