Confessions & Skip the Bucks!

Before I get into my normal Friday post, I need to tell you about the Pink Project and Skip the Bucks over at Naturally Estes.   Today she is linking up for her coffee date over at Rags to Stitches and encouraging everyone to skip their normal morning Starbucks and instead donate that $5 to help save the lives of women through the Pink Project.  Also, if you donate $5 to the charity you can be enterred to win a $50 or a $25 Starbucks gift card! So skipping your coffee today could win you a LOT of coffee later on!  Go check it out!

ALSO, over at Chaotic Goddess Swaps we just announced our 12 Days of Christmas Swap!  Sign-Ups open on the 12th-but go read the details!

Now onto my confessions...

I confess that by tonight there will be only 5 days until I hop on a plane and fly to Oregon to see Mr. Bingo.  My stomach is fluttery, which makes me feel a little nervous-but mostly I'm excited.  I have so much to do before then!

I confess that tonight is Gay Bingo, so that means it's been a full months since I met Mr. Bingo and all of this began.  It's hard to believe its been such a short time-it feels like longer, but in a good way.

I confess that I feel impulsive about this whole "we dated for a week and a half, you moved and I miss you, and now I bought tickets and am coming to visit." But I also have to admit that feeling impulsive feels nice.  It's exciting.  Also, this lake in his back yard is calling my name:

I confess that last night I found out that my ex (he needs a name-let's call him Sneeze) discovered that his kids are being abused.  Apparently the 6 year old came to his house (he has them on the weekends) and told him that his mother has been hitting him in the face every day.  This breaks my heart.  I immediately want to rush up and hug those kids (these are the kids that I practically raised-they were like my own) but I can't.  He cut me out of their life (remember when he told me to go eff myself because he thought I was talking about him behind his back?)and we all have to live with it.

I confess that my friend who tries to kill himself every 6-9 months did it again.  Very publicly as usual, which included a huge Facebook post about how everyone should buy his stuff so his roommate can make rent and how he went into the woods to try and hang himself.  Last time he did this he admitted to me that he does it for attention-and it's the only way he feels loved.  SO I told him I wont love him that way and this time I didn't even text him, or comment, or try to help out.  I'm done playing his games-he obviously doesn't care enough about our friendship so why bother?  It seems callous, but he's done this every 6 months for the last 6 years I've known him so it's kind of like the boy who cried wolf...

I confess that I wonder if everyone has friends with this much drama.  I mean for the most part Sneeze is out of my life (even though I hear things through mutual friends and will always love those kids) and I'm distancing myself from the suicidal friend because every time he does this it kills our friendship a little bit more.

  3. i'm excited for the blog swap! i love em! you betta remind me if i forget to sign up!

i really hate that your friend is doing that to himself and the people around him. i just don't understand why people want to kill themselves...especially if they are just doing it to get attention. it kinda makes you feel like a piece of shit. when my bestfriend tried to kill herself, i asked her how she thinks that would have effected me..and she didn't know. because trying to kill yourself is selfish. it's the most selfish thing you can do. her brother ended up killing himself just a little over a year later. she's not the same. and probably never will be.

i think you did the right thing by not giving him the attention he wants. i mean just tell me you want attention, don't try to kill yourself for it. i really hope he is getting some help..because this crying wolf business is only going to hurt him in the long run.

hope you have a wonderful weekend. i'm so excited for you to go to oregon! i can't wait to hear all about it.

  4. i'd be the same, you only have so much patience for people who attention seek like that constantly, giving them the attention is like feeding their illness they need to get themselves the right kind of attention..like from the Doctor
i admit i don't have any close friends with all that drama, but i think thats probably due to the fact that i distance myself from people like that very early on!

  5. Cannot wait to hear about the trip!

Your friend seriously needs medical attention of the mental health variety. Sadly, if he ever actually does make a real attempt, he may be successful because no one will believe him.

  6. I know I'm a week late getting over here, but I feel terrible for Sneeze's kids.

And I think that your friend with fake suicide calls needs to get some help, but I would probably have to take the same attitude you are on the situation.
