I am HAPPY that 4 hours of sleep was worth it.
Seriously-I was up so late because I was spending time with someone awesome.
Talking about all of these incredibly intimate things.
Which is scary.
And amazing.
I am HAPPY because those talks cleared some things up.
I understand some of the doubts and worries a bit more clearly now, and I'm able to figure out more of how to feel and how to continue down this path without rushing, and without scaring either one of us.
I am HAPPY for open dialogue.
I can't express enough how being honest and open and actually talking about things that are on your mind can help. When you just bottle it up and worry silently to yourself, you never have a chance to figure out if your fears are justified with that person-or whether you're being irrational and afraid of nothing.
Being able to say "I'm afraid you'll think [this] means [that] if we do [this thing]" and having the other person be able to say "Um no, it is what it is-I'm not reading more into it." can really assuage fears and help you feel better about everything.
I am HAPPY for being on similar pages.
It may not be the exact same page, but it's pretty close. Sometimes when talking you can misread what page you're on and end up worrying, but being able to clarify and actually say "I'm here, where are you?" and having them say "I'm here." makes a difference.
I am HAPPY for new and exciting things.
Taking a new step in a new relationship-I'm a little afraid to say it out loud because once I do it isn't inside me anymore... Not that it's a bad thing, I'm just not ready to release new terms and titles out into the world yet-I want to hold it in for a moment more. Keep it close to me.
Partly because I'm afraid to jinx it.
But mostly because it feels special, and I'm not ready to share it with the public.

I am HAPPY.
Just that.
Despite any doubts or insecurities.
Any worries about the future.
Or any baggage or complications from either side.
I'm kind of happy.
I'm choosing not to focus on previous hurt.
Not to focus on what may or may not happen down the road.
I'm only going to focus on enjoying what is here and now.
Enjoying time with someone who makes me happy.
Sometimes I think that we look at this feeling of happiness and start trying to control it.
We try to make it last forever, which is understandable.
No one ever wants to not be happy.
However you can't control it, and it's not always forever.
If you're lucky (fingers crossed that I will be) it just might be the real deal.
But if it's not, at least you get to be happy for this amount of time.
I'm okay with that.
I feel no need to control it.
I'm just going to relax.
Take my time.
And enjoy it as it comes.
I think this thought pattern is much more realistic.
And sometimes, realism is just what you need in these instances when fancy tries to run away with you.
