Me: Only 5 days left until we leave for New York!
Jessica: No, there are 6 days left until we leave.
Me: Um, no, you can't count today it's pretty much over!
Jessica: There are 6 days left.
I then send her this:
Jessica: The 10th is not over! We're only halfway through the day! LOL!
I'm sorry, but I'm fighting this. haha!
Me: Helllooooo in math, once you're over .5 you round UP!
That means it shouldn't be counted. By Math standards. Jessica: Nope!
Me: Uh huh, that's math... 0.5 rounds to 1 not 0. hehehehe
I think this is where we determine that I'm an optimist and you're a pessimist.
Jessica: Not true! lol I'm just a REALIST!!!
Me: Glass half empty vs. half full. lol
Jessica: My glass has water in it. And that is all that matters - realist!
Me: NO, if you wera realist you'd say we have 5.444 days left.
Jessica: Ok, we have 5.444 days left. I can agree with that.
Me: LMAO
Jessica: I'll meet you half way. You say 5. I say 6.
Let's go with 5.5.
Me: If we meet in the middle does that make us both realists?
Jessica: Sure.
Me: This is an amazing conversation!
LOL! I'd say 5, too, because once a day has begun it's in motion, not waiting to be counted. :)
ReplyDeleteI think, when it comes to vacations, EVERYONE should be an optimist! And I am still so excited for you about this trip. It's inspiring me to look at taking a short road trip to Portland, by myself, sometime soonish. Though I really just want to go to Ashland, OR. *sigh*
And Ireland! Still, and always, Ireland.
Hahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteMy friend and I have been texting Charlie Sheenisms for a week. So any text message about math is way smarter sounding then us!
still jealous.
ReplyDeleteThat was funny. A good debate is always fun! Jealous you are debating an awesome trip to NY though.
