In a time when more and more people are waking up and learning that maybe, just maybe, it's okay to be different-it's a little surprising when something new comes up that you didn't really expect. We have so many different people out there that we're learning to celebrate for who they are-different body types, different genders and sexualities, and so many more. With so many people becoming part of this loving movement of not only accepting the differences of others and themselves, but loving those differences, it's hard to remember that there are still unexpected differences to celebrate.
I recently learned about Viktoria Modesta, who is quickly being called "the world's first amputee pop star," and boy-I was wowed by her. She is beautiful and talented, and oh so strong and brave for putting herself out there and taking control of her life. Plus, what a positive role model for anyone who has been classified as having "a disability" and how it doesn't have to define you. You can put yourself out there and follow your dream in spite of what other people may think. Just look at this-and stick around for the spike dance at the end, it's brilliant!

I love the line that says "Feel the sparks, we're building art" because it's beautiful how she can take something that could have been devastating to her career and made it art. She made it brilliant and beautiful and she's building a life and a better career with it. Aside from her leg, the video is crazy futuristic and dark-and beautiful.
