Recently I was offered the chance to receive and review another one of eShakti's gorgeous dresses-this time from the eShakti Holiday Collection. There are so many gorgeous items, picking was hard, so of course I enlisted the opinion of friends to pick something. Remember how much I loved the last dress they sent me? I am still through the roof about that one-it's stunning!
First off, let me start by saying that the fabric and pattern in this dress is AMAZING. The flowers, the colors, it just pops and it's absolutely gorgeous! I'm so in love with the skirt portion that I can't even begin to tell you enough about it. It's beautiful and great quality, and you just know this dress is going to hold up to some wear and tear. This dress is sleeveless, but I'm wearing a black shrug with it. I think I need a brightly colored shrug that matches one of the flowers. :)
The problem for me was with my choice of the dress. I should have chosen something with a lower neckline for the same reason I don't like T-shirts or turtle necks around my neck-that's totally on me and my personal preference so I should have known. Also the zipper being just in the back was not only impossible for me to get on myself, but it proved difficult for my friend's to zip me up in. I loved the last dress how the zipper was on the side, but with this neckline it wouldn't work. The zipper issues could also have been due to my chunkiness, I should be clear about that, but once it was on it fit like a dream-and wow does it make my waist look lovely!
I do kind of wish I'd gone with Shawn's suggestion, which was the Grace Dress. Now I'm wishing that was in my closet too-because... Well just look how lovely it is-it'd be a perfect Valentine's Day dress too. *wink*
Personally, I really think this dress will be lovely on me after I lose a little weight. It might be now, I don't know-but I will always be a HUGE eShakti supporter. If you've never shopped eShakti, you really should. They have all kinds of sizes (from super tiny to super large) and they can customize the lengths, measurements, and necklines on most dresses when you order-it's brilliant!

ReplyDeleteLove those flowers! I think it's pretty but I totally get what you mean about the neckline. When you're larger busted a high neck can be so weird! Either way...you look beautiful! I was offered a dress awhile back and received it months ago...I STILL haven't blogged about it. Whoops.

I really want to support eShakti, but their customer service drove me away. Everything was too tight, or had a neckline that plunged past my bra (this is why I NEED to see the dress on a person!), and when I returned the last piece to exchange it, they just started ignoring me.
ReplyDeleteWith busty gals like us, I think you have to have a lower or shaped neckline. I think sweetheart is the most flattering, but a V-neck is good, too (or a scoop). Boat neck tends to make the shoulders look wide, as does a high circle neck like on that dress. BUT depending on the material, maybe you can alter the neckline?
