Pride Weekend Recap & Photo Dump

This weekend was the 2012 Utah Pride Festival in Salt Lake City.  I spent the entire weekend volunteering for Cause for Paws Utah, and I have to say I prefer volunteering to attending.  It was much more fun hanging out and talking to people in our booth than the half hour I would have walked around and gotten bored.  It made me happy.
Here I am dolled up for Sunday at the Pride Festival.
This was the material on my dress.  :)
Our booth was so packed all the time!
One of our fosters was unable to drive down with her dogs, so we went to Bountiful to pick them up.  They were so cute-I loved snuggling and loving on them all day.
Backseat full of puppies!
Cookie is the teacup Chihuahua (available) and Chai (adopted now) is the chiweenie on the right
Josh loving on Titan.  He got adopted first!
Sleeping pooches.
Fizz was our last adoption of the festival.  She's going to be renamed Jackie.
We also lost a dog... Lilo bolted from her cage and took off.  We chased her but no one could catch her as she ran right out the gate across a busy street and away.  Josh chased her several blocks before he lost her.  Luckily a very nice lady found her the next day and brought her to the Salt Lake County Animal Services booth and we got her back! She was so scared!

Also, I only put in 5 tickets in our drawing but I won a $100 gift certificate to Cathedral Tattoo with the artist CJ Fishburn (one of the people in charge of CFPU) and now I'm both nervous and excited! I don't know what to get!

In other news...

Thursday night we went and saw Aliens: The Puppet Musical done by Meat 'n' Potato theatre company.  It was fantastic.  My good friend Meggy did the costumes, but the whole thing was awesome too!  It was nerd central, and hilarious!  Now I need to watch the Alien movies.  If you are anywhere near SLC this weekend, go see it-you wont regret it.  Tickets can be bought HERE.

My downstairs neighbor made us cupcakes for always helping the kids out and putting up with them.  Now I feel bad for ever complaining because she was so sweet.  It reminded me that I need to chill out and be less of a bitch sometimes.  They were yummy too!

That's about it...
How have you been lately?  I really want to know!
Come back tomorrow and I'll tell you all about the cute little Smash book icon in the upper right side bar!  Aren't you just dying to know?

Secret (MM)

This week's song:

Secret
by The Pierces

[Chorus]
Got a secret, can you keep it?
Swear this one you'll save
Better lock it in your pocket
Taking this one to the grave

If I show you then I know you wont tell what I said
'Cause two can keep a secret if one of them is dead

Why do you smile like you've been told a secret?
Now you're telling lies 'cause you have sworn to keep it
But no one keeps a secret, no one keeps a secret

Why when we do our darkest deeds do we tell?
They burn in our brains become a living hell
'Cause everybody tells, everybody tells

[Chorus]

Look into my eyes, now you're getting sleepy
Are you hypnotized by secrets that you're keeping?
I know what you're keeping, I know what you're keeping

[Chorus]

Catherine: Allison?
Allison: Yes, Catherine?
Catherine: I have something I want to tell you, but you have to promise never to tell anyone.
Allison: I promise
Catherine: Do you swear on your life?
Allison: I swear on my life.

You swore you'd never tell, you swore you'd never tell
You swore you'd never tell, you swore you'd never tell

[Chorus x3]

Yes two can keep a secret if one of them is dead.
Yes two can keep a secret if...
One of us is dead!

I heard this song on the season finale of Dirt (which I enjoyed watching two weekends ago) and fell in love with it.  I immediately went and got the album it's from, which is called Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge (how could I not get it) and I just love their voices.

On a side note, I've decided this needs to be mine and Kristi's song-since we have our secret vault and anything carnival macabre-esque reminds me of her.  :)

What are you listening to this week?
Don't forget if you link up throughout the year you get entered in a massive drawing at the end of it for music related goodies!
