January RAK Recap

RAK Book Soulmates
I cannot begin to express just how much I love RAK.  I'm so glad Beth turned me onto it, because it is one of the most fun things I've been a part of.  The idea is that you send books to people when you can, and receive books from people when they can send them-it's lovely.  For more information, or to sign up,  check out the RAK February Sign up.

Some of you may remember that I sent 7 books in December, and received a couple of books from Beth.  Not necessarily RAK books, but I counted them. January was crazy, so I was unable to send books out, however I did receive three of them, which was amazing!  Thank you so much to those that sent me books!

The Graveyard Book by Neil GaimanLetters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria RilkeUndead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson

1. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.  This has been at the top of my list forever-I wanted it so badly and so whoever sent me this is amazing.  I am hooked on Neil Gaiman now that I'm finishing up Neverwhere, so I'm pretty sure I'll be starting this one next!

2. Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke- This book has also been at the top of my list ever since I came across this quote from it:

"Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage.  Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love."

3. Undead and Unwed by Mary Janice Davidson - I'm pretty sure I've read this one, and I liked it-so it was on my wishlist because eventually I'd love to get through the whole series!

December's RAK Wrap-up {Book Love!}

Book Soulmates

First, did you sign up for January's RAK over at Book Soulmates? If not, you totally should... If you're not sure what RAK is, well it stands for "Random Acts of Kindness" and it's all about books! You can send books out to anyone on the list, and they can send books out to you!  So much fun!

At the end of the month you're supposed to write a wrap-up post of books you sent out and books you received.  Let's start with what I received-technically these weren't through the RAK thing-but they were on my wishlist and Beth was on the RAK list-so I'm counting it!

Chicks Dig Time Lords and Neverwhere Books

Beth sent me Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman which I have been wanting to read forever!  She also sent Chicks Dig Time Lords, and as a Doctor Who Fan I cannot wait to read it!  I stayed up really late last night just so I could finish Brother Odd and get started on these!

With money being tight due to the holidays and paying off a big debt all in 3 payments, I just decided to send some eBooks through the Kindle store to people who were requesting them.  While I dont use eBooks myself-this made it so easy to send out 7 low-cost books to people over the holiday.  Here's what I sent:

Daughter of the Goddess by Rita J WebbThe Truth About FallingBlack Magic
Twelve Days of Christmas BookBook: The Merchant's DaughterBook: Darkness Comes This WayBook: Cry of the Wolf
