Art Table, Poutine, Mummies, and Isabella Rosselini.

This weekend was pretty low-key which is nice on my overly tired self as well as my pocket book! My new rug finally came Friday, and then Julie, the roommate, and I all spent the evening relaxed and watching RuPaul's Drag Race.  It was nice and happy!

Saturday morning I finally managed to get my art table put together! (happy)  I'm so excited to use it, though frustrated I haven't yet as the moment I got it put together Max showed up unexpectedly and took me away from it. It was good to hang out with him though because it had been a while.

Saturday night we had a craving for Poutine, so we went to the store and made it the lazy way-a.k.a frozen fries (Baked in the oven), Mozzerella cheese (we could not find cheese curds anywhere!), and Bisto Onion Gravy we had in the cupboard from the British store.  It was still delicious.  (happy

We also picked up the new Lays chips flavors to try them.  Verdict?  None of them are great.  I was most excited for the Sriracha ones, but they don't taste like Sriracha at all... They taste more like Tabasco-or well, vinegar with a little spice.  The Garlic Cheesy Bread ones should be spot on, but there is something really weird about the flavor which none of us really liked.  Out of all of them I think the best were the Chicken & Waffles (surprising because I've heard nothing but bad about them) and they were still only so-so.  I wouldn't buy any of these flavors again if given the chance-they are all just kind of blah.

Sunday we got up early and went to brunch at Squatters.  They have $2 Mimosas and $3 Bloody Mary's on Sunday, so we took advantage of that-which makes me happy.  Then we went over to The Leonardo to see the Mummies of the World exhibit which was very fascinating!  There was so much to learn and so many cool facts about mummies.  If you get the chance to go, I recommend it!

It was a lovely rainy day (happy) and I was surrounded by my awesome friends (more happy) at the museum.

The second photo is the Hylozoic Veil at the Leonardo.  This actually reacts to people in the room or weather events all over the country by lighting up differently or moving.  It's very cool, and super interesting!

While at the museum they had a Nature's Toolbox exhibit, and there was a theatre with a warning sign out side saying that the video was most appropriate for adults and not children because it features the birds and the bees-both literally and figuratively.  It was hilarious, informative, and awkward-but man I love Isabella Rosselini even more now!

I mean I learned about how different animals and insects and how they mate, while laughing my ass off the entire time, which makes me happy.  You can see the entire collection of these videos (from the Sundance Chanel) on Youtube, but remember they are pretty adult oriented although educational and great for a really big laugh-NSFW probably...

  3. Poutine sounds naughty at first glance. The pictures make it look like worms in dirt. The ingredients sound ok though. LOL.

Mmm I could go for bloody mary, I haven't had one in years.
