Happy Mail, Rescue Dogs, Nail Polish, & Writing

This weekend was a good mail weekend for me.  I came home both Thursday and Friday to a bunch of packages on my doorstep.  It always feels a little like your birthday! Included in the packages was the cards and rings I won from the Please Note Giveaway I won,  my books and nail polish from the Lucky Leprechaun Book & Polish Swap (The Forever 21 polish, Beautiful Creatures, and M is for Magic! Thanks Tabi!), an RAK book (Warm Bodies! Thanks CJ!), and a wedding invitation from an old friend I haven't seen in years-I'm so happy for her!

Friday night I volunteered at Bingo, which I do every second Friday each month.  It's always a good time, and since we are doing our own set-up and tear down now I got a good workout as well.

Saturday I joined Ashlee with my Cause for Paws Utah at Petsmart to help with the small adoption event she was doing.  It was fun to get to play with the dogs again, I hadn't been in a while and I was missing it.  I also was able to go play with the rolly-polly blind puppies we took in for a minute after, they are so cute!

Snoopy the hound-dog was my favorite.  He was a lawn-ornament dog so he's a little shy, but oh so docile and sweet.  I loved him!  Moose the fawn colored Chihuahua has had a rough life, but is just as cute (in a Frankenstein kind of way) and cheerful as can be-even if he is afraid of bigger dogs.  And little bear is a 12 year old boy who just had all of his teeth pulled, so the poor guy was super cranky after a long day, but hopefully is going to live in an old-folks home with an 80 year old grandpa who just lost his wife.

Sunday morning I decided to go through and organize my nail polish collection.  I didn't realize that I have 70 bottles...

Then we went and saw Oz the Great and Powerful.  It was alright, not quite as good as what I expect and a little cheesy, but pretty to look at.  After the movie we had dinner at Apollo Burger and then stopped off at Target where I picked up a new scarf, some Baby Lips (which I dig!), and a new bottle of Essie nail polish.  It's my new favorite, I am LOVING my manicure.

Another thing that makes me happy is the fact that last night right before bed (even though I was exhausted, I have a hard time adjusting to Daylight Savings) I got the bug to write.  Not necessarily blog writing, but novel writing-it was amazing!  I wrote over 3,000 words before my eyes were too heavy to continue.

  9. Love those bow rings. And I'll have to try Baby Lips since I have dry lips but hate lipstick.
