Oh, BTW, I'm going to start my letters tomorrow guys. I like the Sept. 1st idea.
I just have to say...
Seriously, I hate them with a fiery burning passion.
After all the crap we had, and found out they were charging us for 7 but we can't even push 3 through our pipe, and then them saying they'd credit us back for the charge, they just changed their mind and said "Oh there's no different in price between 7 and 5 MB.
EXCEPT WE AREN'T EVEN GETTING 3 MB THROUGH OUR PIPE WITHOUT ERRORS!
Even if we were getting 5 through the pipe now (which we are most assuredly not) then I think a refund is STILL in order for all the months we had the crappiest internet ever cutting in and out because they were tyring to push 7MB in an area that it isn't even supported.
They are lying, cheating, bastards.
Unethical.
I will be reporting them to the BBB.
As well as posting on every forum about the hell they've put us through.
I'm also switching to Comcast, like today.
Also, friends, I highly recommend you do not do business with a company who openly lies and steals from it's customers. Their OWN EMPLOYEE, the tech that came to our house, admittedly told us to switch to someone else because of what they're doing.
I also share your fiery hate, good move with comcast, cheaper, faster, and there NICE to people.
ReplyDeleteYou should organize a phone attack on them.
ReplyDeleteYea, comcast kinda has spotty service sometimes (at least for me, in every house I've been in... like for a week, once a year it'll go out off & on)
ReplyDeleteBUT they are FABULOUS with customer service and working with you on things like "you dicked me over, I demand a refund" type stuff.
They illegally switched my phone to their service years and years ago and I'll never trust them again!
ReplyDeleteThat is awful that you are having such trouble!!! Grrrrr!!!!
ReplyDeleteI used to have the 7Mg service although my speed tests typically said I was getting 5Mg. They recently upgraded my neighboorhood and now I can get up to 12Mg.. so I upgraded and now I'm getting almost 16Mg!
ReplyDeleteSo while the network speeds are never as simple as the marketing folks want to try to make it so everyone can understand it.. At least Qwest doesn't try to scam you as bad as Comcast.
Anon - Oh no, I had Comcast before and was never scammed... While Qwest outright ripped us off, offered a refund, and then revoked that offer to rip us off again. I wont be doing business with them ever again.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming, correct me if I'm wrong, that you never gave us the oportunity to come out to your house and test your speed. If you are not getting what you are paying for,ask nicely and you would be amazed what people will do to help. Otherwise, bastard is a rather harsh term for anyone. The "Qworst" idea is truly brilliant, as are you. If you want to keep our service, treat us as you want to be treated, ou\r try out comcast and you will have the same hateful remarks. I think you will find that if you treat people at qwest at least somewhat civilly, we will bend over backwards to make sure you get good service.
ReplyDeleteAnon - You know what assuming is right? I don't think I need to explain that... Actually, we did have people come out-several times, in fact. We had been paying for 7MB, and the Qwest Tech guy said it wasn't even offered in our area and that they shouldn't have been pushing it through which is what was causing all the errors. He then called in and had them drop us to 5MB, which surprise surprise, didn't work either. He finally settled with us on 3MB. My roommate said "Well if they don't offer what they have us paying for, then I guess I will have to switch to someone else" and YOUR OWN TECH SAID "I would."
ReplyDeleteAfter being dropped to 3MB, our service steadily got worse and worse. Most weekends we wouldn't have any internet connection at all. We were left for days without internet, and even on the days we did have it, it would cut in and out continually. It was too much trouble to never have what we were paying for.
Also, do not assume I ever said ANYTHING about the customer service, because I didn't. I said Qwest was lying to us and cheating us. We never had one bad thing to say about a support or CS rep, they were kind and generally did their best to help, the fact that the company sucked was beyond them. Even when we finally called and canceled, the girl was as sweet as can be and she specifically thanked us for not being mean and yelling while canceling like most customers do.
We were polite as can be to the CS and support reps, and they returned the same. Again, stop assuming friend. I too work in Technical Support, as has my roommate, so both of us know that you don't take it out on the techs. So don't tell me "think you will find that if you treat people at qwest at least somewhat civilly, we will bend over backwards to make sure you get good service." Because we were polite, they were polite, but the actual SERVICE we were paying for (you know internet, not talking to some nice representative on the phone) never worked to even half satisfaction.
So a great big thank you to all the wonderful CS and Support Reps that tried to help, but a great big GOODBYE to Qwest internet.
I've been with Comcast for weeks now, and I have nothing but good to say so far. The internet is wonderfully fast, and so far the only problem I have had was with the cheap used Modem I bought because I couldn't afford a nice one after blowing a hundred bucks on one for Qwest and then paying for a service I wasn't receiving. Comcast has been wonderful.
So I hope you learned a little something about assuming, (oh hell, I'll point it out ass+U+me.) because none of your assumptions or points you tried to make were even remotely close or true.
Besides, I don't know about your company, but mine would be angry if anyone but PR went out and left comments on people's blogs telling them off, especially when they were WRONG and only furthering distaste. We've all been told to leave it for the people who have the facts straight and actually know what they're talking about.
