So you've all heard this little saying right?
Like apples on trees, the best women
are at the top.
Men don't want to reach
for the good ones because they
are afraid of falling and getting hurt.
...So, they get the apples
from the ground that aren't as good,
but easy. The apples at the top think
something is wrong with them, when in
reality, they're amazing.
They have to wait for the right man to
come along, who's
brave enough to climb to the
top of the tree.

Well today my friend Billie pops up to rant about it:
Her: wtf??? does that mean the rest of us that have husbands are easy?
So here is our response to this apple analogy:
Her: Sometimes I read things like this and think “Oh come on Ladies, get an effing life, why are we sitting around reading this kind of shit and thinking that we’re the pick of the crop and we should just wait it out until the perfect man miraculously sweeps us off our feet?!”
not all men are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Some of them are just plain lazy and the abundance of apples on display at the bottom of the tree must be quite a distraction for them. Probably for the best that they don’t attempt to get much higher than ground level.
ME: Yeah, some men are just assholes and want all the apples. So they keep reaching for the ones at the top, all the while still eating all of the ones at the bottom.
*Disclaimer* This is for fun and laughs, none of my male friends or suitors should in any way take this towards them. Haha, I ♥ them all!

I've never heard this 'metaphorical story' before! I guess it's just not popular in Poland? What I think is that it's not possible to generalize like this - like your friend said that "so we who are married have husbands who wanted someone easy". Plus, I think this story was made up for single women. To make them feel better. I don't think it was meant for married woman, lol
ReplyDeleteHaha, I had a good laugh reading this:)
ReplyDeleteI also love the apple picture!
