I confess that I had a date last night for the first time in a very long time last night. You'd think after all the dating that has been done in my past that I would be a pro at this, but I am not... I was pretty nervous. Turns out I really had no reason to be. He was very sweet and opened all my doors and took me to dinner and the theatre. I really enjoyed myself, and it was so nice that it was fairly easy to converse and just be.
Plus, [nickname to be determined if this goes further] gets bonus points for showing up at my door with a big bag of peanut M&Ms. Chocolate is always a good choice (unless your date is a diabetic) and we had been discussing peanut M&Ms a few days ago via text-so it was thoughtful too!
I confess that starting to date again, especially in a situation that may be already fated (as he's moving away in a month) is an eye-opening experience. I feel like I'm having all kinds of epiphanies about simplicity and living in the present-not the future. I guess that's another post for another day.
I confess that my friends are extremely cool. We went to the Fear Factory the other night, and I really adore these guys! They crack me up!
I confess that I really dig my new navy-esque cardigan I snagged at Ross for a steal. So cute! I really love Ross, you can find cute stuff for really cheap.
I confess that I'm obsessed with tank-tops and sweaters from Target. They are so soft, and great for simple layering. I kind of have a collection of most of the colors...

I've been fighting off a cold all week too! Lots of echinacea, Vitamin C... so far, I'm winning, I hope I can keep it up! ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
If I had to go on a date now, I think I would be a nervous wreck! Glad you had a good time, just enjoy it for now. Anything can happen. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYay for your nice date! You certainly deserve to be treated like a lady. I'm so glad it went well.
ReplyDeleteIt really is the season for cardigans, isn't it? I confess though I prefer a jacket or blazer to a cardi.
Thanks for linking up with Friday Confessional! Have a fabulous weekend!
Awesome that you had a nice date--the dating world scares me.
ReplyDeleteYou can never go wrong with chocolate.
so happy you had a great date and hope that cold stays away
ReplyDeleteI was at Target buying some tops today!
ReplyDeleteHe sounds so sweet. How can you not fall for a man that brings you chocolate? ;-)
Wahooo! Living in the present is extremely difficult, but I think it just takes practice. We tend, in dating, to plan for the future as if dates were like employment interviews. I think the better route is to think "am I having fun with this person, right now?" and if the answer is ever NO, then stop dating them. :)
ReplyDelete(I must say, that he showed up with M&Ms is awesome, and I'm glad he's being a gentleman and treating you like the awesome, independent woman that you are!)
I just read a column in the Chicago Tribune about how someone thought M&M's were old fashion. I think they are great.
ReplyDeleteLord NyQuil! Ha! I'm going to steal that. Love it!! Yay for great dates and super bonus for being thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteLove the steal from Ross. I like that store too, love that you went on your first date in a very long time. I just went through that myself and coincidentally the guy I went on a date with is moving next month too. Whats up with that? LOL living in the moment was definitely a lesson for me to. Have fun while I can. Total score on bringing the M&M's too.. Thanks for sharing this and so glad you cold is gone. I HATE being sick ugh its the worse....
