The Angels Take Manhattan

This weekend is going to be so very full of awesome.  Other than my party on Saturday (which is going to be lots of drunken fun) I simply cannot express how much I am looking forward to the Doctor Who premier.  If you're a Doctor Who fan, you know what I'm talking about.  I've waited so long. If you're not a Doctor Who fan-why not?

If you've never seen the show, I'll fill you in a little bit.  That odd looking guy in the front is The Doctor.  The Doctor is a Timelord who travels all of space and time in a flying phone box called the Tardis.

Those two pretty people just behind him are Amy and Rory his human companions.  Amy and Rory have possibly the most amazing love story ever.  He literally waited 2000 years for her when they got stuck in the past, and she pulled time apart to bring him back when he died.  Amazing.

Sadly, I'm pretty sure these two will only make it through part of the season.  Rumor has it they have a new companion for him and something tragic is going to happen.  I'm much too attached to these fictional characters.  Heart-wrenching.

The Angels are the freaky part.  They're some of the scariest Doctor Who villains.  Living statues that come to life when you're not looking at them-and if they touch you-you either die or get sucked back and left in the past.  Don't Blink.  These suckers are fast.

Julie has already decreed that she's making cupcakes and we're dressing up for the Doctor Who premier.  It's going to be a big event at my house.  I can't wait!

Will you be watching?

  4. NO! *weep* I only wish I had TV when Dr Who premiers....and then I bemoan not having it. I have to wait until it comes out on DVD. Blast and damn.

But the Weeping Angels are scary (even Angel Bob). And I adore Rory (who is now technically older than the Doctor). And I was surprised that they'd be in this episode, because I thought the end of last season pretty well set up that they were done with all of that and moving on. The new companion has some mighty large shoes to fill!

  5. I have to wait until it's on Netflix. S.D. and I just watched Amy and Rory's wedding episode, so we only have one season to finish. I'd love to drag it out as long as possible. S.D. wants to watch the final season in marathon fashion.

Ah well, I guess in the interim we can always watch Torchwood. Capt. Jack Harkness is no Doctor...but he does have a special charisma.

  6. OMG I love, love, love Dr. Who!!!! I was so upset that I missed the season premiere, but I'm waiting to buy it on amazon streaming. I did hear that Rory and Amy were leaving, so I'm not sure if I can continue on without them. I'm going to be soooo upset if something terrible happens. And yes, the weeping angels freak me out! lol, So happy I stumbled upon your little piece of the blogging world.
