I Love Pit Bulls

I love Pit Bulls.  I know a lot of people don't, but I can't help it.  Not only are they gorgeous and adorable, but they are the most loyal and loving dogs I've ever met.  I've decided that when I get a house, I want one, so I'll be adopting one from a rescue or shelter.  Adopt not shop.

Did you know that Pitties were once considered to be "Nanny dogs". They were loved for their love and calmness with children.

I want one so much!
What the hell, I'll probably get one when I get a house. :)

  1. I love them all, such beautiful creatures. One of my best friends just adopted a young male & female, they go get fixed next week! :) And Ohio removed them from the vicious list today! Score one for the pit bulls!

  6. you definitely need to adopt one of these little cuties when ya get your new place. i would love to have a dog cause i have a big backyard but i couldn't do that to piper and it really is a lot of responsibility. and i think pitbulls are illegal in my city anyways gotta get some stupid permit or something.

i have seen two pitbulls fight before probably one of the scairest things i've seen before. it was sad.
which one outta the group would you pick?

  8. Ahh I'm going to cry. I can't look at their pictures because I will literally crack and want them all! I've had two pits (one full bred and my pup now who is half Basset Hound also and looks similar to Tiger above, except with longer ears :). I can account for them being amazing dogs. It's the assholes who mistreat them that ruin their name. Like Michael Vick. I will never get over my hatred for him.

Anyways, bless you for adopting! Rescue dogs are the best dogs because they are SO loving and appreciative of their new homes.

OK this topic clearly has a spot in my heart :) I hope you can adopt real soon!!

  9. I was totally one of those people who had a negative view of pit bulls, but it just so happens that at the office I work in, 3 of the employees have pits and bring them in often. COMPLETELY changed my view, they are the sweetest, most loving dogs I've come across! All 3 of them are really different from each other, but are so sweet and friendly and calm. I adore each one and want to snatch them all from my coworkers haha.

And now I kind of want to adopt each and every single one of those cuties you posted.

  10. We had the most amazing Pit!!! He was the best by far of all the dogs I grew up with. my daughter could literally climb all over him and take food out of his mouth...
It was amazing cause people would judge us for having him- yet our kiddo was bit by a black lab... a "family dog"

  11. Oh my gosh- they're all so adorable! It's such a shame that they have such a negative stigma nowadays, when they're just as loving (if not more loving) than other breeds. I love the brindle ones- they look so exotic!

  12. Yeah, I've never understood the breed's reputation. There's a very active pro-Pitties group here in Seattle that advocate, and the dogs sound so sweet. It's frustrating when people don't understand that temperment is only partly genetic- the rest is environment! If you raise an animal to be afraid all the time, it will act out- and that's true for any breed of any animal! Like Brenna, I've known sweet pit bulls, and the only negative "dog attacking my face" experience I've ever had was with an elderly lab. Go figure!

  13. I think I am in love with Alex!!! My sweet little Westie love, Bonnie Blue, is a rescue pup. They are the best because I think they know you saved them! I hope you adopt one soon (after you get your house)....

  14. Such beautiful dogs! Makes me sad looking at all those photos, its said the rep they have got, they really could be a good dog (I have never owned one) its the owners that are at fault! Me and the hubs are planning on getting a puppy pit bull when we can! Thanks for making the awareness!!
